Minnesota: Muslim girl indicted, told roommates to ‘join the jihad in fighting’ and to ‘join Al Qaeda, Taliban, Al Shabaab’

Jihad recruitment and al-Qaeda support from a 19-year-old girl in Minnesota, and hardly any press coverage, of course. Nothing to see here, according to the enemedia. Just another Muslim trying to kill people, setting ablaze, among other things, a residential dormitory that also houses a day care center. Police said there were 33 children and eight adults in one the building. Nothing to see here, eh?

Tnuza Jamal Hassan wrote a letter to her roommates about “bringing back the Caliphate,” an Islamic state. The letter scared Hassan’s roommates, who turned it over to campus security. The St Catherine’s University student said she set the fires to avenge Muslims in Iraq or Afghanistan.

These indictments are a victory. On January 20 I wrote: “Tnuza Jamal Hassan set 8 fires and was only charged with a single case of arson. Why no terrorism charges?” Now she has been charged with “attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization,” as well as “arson, and making a false statement.” She should have been charged with terrorism based solely on what she did at St. Catherine University, aside from whatever support she tried to provide to al-Qaeda, but this is good enough.

This is a war. Our enemies are fighting and plotting every day. Our authorities need to wake up to the magnitude of what is going on.

“Minneapolis Woman Charged With Terrorism Offenses, Arson, And Making False Statements,” Department of Justice, February 7, 2018:

United States Attorney Gregory G. Brooker today announced a three-count indictment charging TNUZA JAMAL HASSAN, 19, with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, arson, and making a false statement. HASSAN will make her initial appearance before a United States Magistrate Judge at a later date.

According to the indictment, on September 19, 2017, HASSAN, a former student at St. Catherine University (SCU) in St. Paul, Minnesota, attempted to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, namely, al-Qa’ida. On September 22, 2017, in an interview with FBI Agents, HASSAN was asked whether she authored and delivered a letter to two fellow students at SCU in March 2017. The letter sought to encourage fellow students to “join the jihad in fighting” and to “[j]oin Al Qaeda, Taliban, or Al Shabaab.” HASSAN knowingly made a false statement to FBI Agents when she stated (1) she did not write the letter, (2) she did not know who wrote the letter, and (3) did not know how the letter came to be delivered to her fellow students.

According to the indictment, on January 17, 2018, HASSAN started several fires on the campus of SCU, including in St. Mary Hall, which she maliciously damaged. The fires set by HASSAN caused the St. Paul Fire Department to respond to SCU.

HASSAN was charged in Ramsey County District Court with one count of first-degree arson and is currently in custody at the Ramsey County Jail.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew R. Winter is prosecuting the case.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force, St. Paul Police Department, and arson investigators from the St. Paul Fire Department.

“Minnesota woman, 19, who allegedly told students to ‘join the jihad,’ is indicted,” by Nicole Darrah, Fox News, February 7, 2018:

A Minnesota woman whom prosecutors said set fires at a Minnesota university out of anger because of U.S. military actions overseas was charged with terrorism Wednesday after she allegedly tried to assist a terrorist organization last year.

Tnuza Jamal Hassan, 19, was charged in federal court for attempting to provide material support to Al Qaeda, lying to the FBI and arson, Fox 9 reported. She was initially arrested Jan. 17 after she set eight fires in seven buildings on the St. Catherine University campus in St. Paul.

The Minneapolis woman admitted to investigators that she started the fires, which prosecutors said were sparked when she was “reading about the US military destroying schools in Iraq or Afghanistan and she felt that she should do exactly the same thing,” a criminal complaint read.

Hassan admitted to investigators that she intended to “hurt people” when she lit fires on the St. Catherine University campus in St. Paul. (Google Earth)

“Hassan said she wanted the school to burn to the ground and that her intent was to hurt people,” the complaint stated. “Hassan said this was that same thing that happened in ‘Muslim land’ and nobody cares if they get hurt, so why not do this?”

No one was injured in the campus fires.

Details about Hassan’s terrorism charge are unclear, but a federal indictment said she attempted to provide support to al Qaeda in September by trying to provide “personnel.”

The former English major is also accused of lying about writing a letter to her roommates in March, asking them “to join the jihad in fights,” and to “[j]oin al-Qaeda, Taliban, or Al Shabaab,” according to Fox 9.

Hassan also “told the police and fire investigators ‘You guys are lucky that I don’t know how to build a bomb because I would have done that,’” the complaint said…

New York: Muslim joins Somali terrorists, trains with AK-47, rocket-propelled grenades

Somali Terror Group Al-Shabaab

Jones flew to Kenya from New York and then entered Somalia and joined al-Shabaab. Why did he do this? Which New York mosque did he attend? What do they teach there? Does anyone know? Does anyone care? Or are authorities waving such questions away with the old standby trope, “He was radicalized on the Internet”?

“US Citizen Pleads Guilty To Supporting Somali Terror Group Al-Shabaab,” by Jonah Bennett, Daily Caller, September 8, 2017:

U.S. citizen Maalik Alim Jones has pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to Somalia-based terror group al-Shabaab.

Jones, 32, left his wife back home and flew to Kenya from New York in 2011, traveling to Somalia via land once he had arrived in Kenya. Upon entering Somalia, Jones immediately began working with al-Shabaab and receiving military training from the terror group, including how to operate an AK-47 and rocket-propelled grenades, according to a Department of Justice press release.

“I knew that my actions were a violation of the laws of the United States,” Jones said.

Jones quickly moved up the ranks to join al-Shabaab’s special unit, known as Jaysh Ayman. As part of that unit, Jones attacked soldiers from the Kenyan government.

In total, Jones fought for four years as part of al-Shabaab.

Somali authorities arrested Jones in December 2015 as he was trying to head to Yemen, at which point he was sent back to the United States….

“As he admitted in court today, Maalik Jones traveled to Somalia, was trained by al Shabaab in the use of an AK-47 and rocket-propelled grenades and took up arms for four years as a terrorist fighter,” said New York Acting Attorney Joon Kim. “For his allegiance to this lawless, terrorist organization that vows to destroy America and its values, Maalik Jones been held to account in an American court of law. All that is left is for him to be sentenced for his crimes.”…

Devout Muslim Group Burns Children Alive, Slaughters Over 100

Another Muslim group aligned with the Islamic State waging holy war in the cause of Allah. The “Group of the People of Sunnah for Preaching and Jihad,” commonly referred to as Boko Haram, has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.

Obama say, “the Islamic State is not Islamic.” And what a brilliant and effective strategy that has turned out to be. Obama’s tower of skulls.

ISIS, Boko Haram, al Shabaab, Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda, Hezb’Allah, MILF, et al — it’s all the same thing. Islamic imperialism through jihad (holy war).

“Boko Haram Jihadis Burn Children Alive, Slay Over 100 Villagers in Nigeria Massacre,” By Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D., Breitbart, January 31, 2016:

In one of their most heinous massacres to date, militants from the radical Islamist Boko Haram group slaughtered over a hundred victims in a village in northeast Nigeria Saturday night, including a number of children whom they burned alive.

The latest atrocity from the jihadi group allied to the Islamic State took place in the village of Dalori, some three miles from Maiduguri, Nigeria. Vice Chairman of a civilian joint task force in Dalori, Modu Kaka, said that at least 100 dead bodies were taken away but that hundreds are still missing.

Witnesses spoke of “scores of bodies” burned and riddled with bullets lying in the streets after the attack Saturday night. One man, who managed to escape by hiding in a tree, said that he could hear the wails of children screaming in the flames.

Residents of the community said the militants stormed into town around 6:20 pm and began their killing spree, which lasted for several hours. During the assault, the jihadis demolished houses and burned livestock once they had pillaged and carried away foodstuffs. Several of the villagers were burnt beyond recognition.

Witnesses reported that the fighters ravaged the settlement for four hours, and that three female suicide bombers blew themselves up among people who were fleeing.

Students at nearby University of Maiduguri heard explosions and gunfire, and many fled the area as the conflict raged.

One political science student named Hauwa Ba’na said: “We are crying in our hostel because the explosions are loud and everyone is panicking.”

A Dalori resident, Mallam Buka, decried the lack of protection from the Nigerian military. “We were helpless. Could you believe that there was no military presence in Dalori? The government didn’t provide security to protect us. I lost 11 people, and 5 of our children are nowhere to be found,” she said.

Another resident by the name of Ibrahim Muhammad said that the Boko Haram insurgents had dressed up as military personnel and began opening fire on everybody. “All our wives and children were brutally killed while they looted and destroyed our livestock,” he said.

Boko Haram terrorists began their Islamist insurgency in Maiduguri in 2009, and during their 6-year uprising have killed some 20,000 people and driven another 2.5 million from their homes.

Maryland Muslim indicted for training with jihad terror group

Al-Shabaab, which carried out the bloody Westgate mall jihad massacre in Kenya, has threatened attacks in the U.S.

“Maryland man accused of training with African terrorist group,” Associated Press, January 11, 2016:

BALTIMORE – A Maryland man has been indicted on charges of supporting and receiving military training from an African terrorist group connected with Al Qaeda.

Thirty-one-year-old Maalik Alim Jones appeared in federal court in New York City last month on a complaint and indictment unsealed Monday, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

According to the indictment, Jones, a U.S. citizen, left Baltimore in 2011 and traveled to Somalia, where he was taken to an al-Shabab training camp.

After being trained how to shoot firearms and operate a rocket propelled grenade, Jones allegedly took part in a battle in the Somali town of Afmadow against Kenyan soldiers….

Al-Shabaab pledges loyalty to the Islamic State after slaughtering 150 Christian students

The Islamic State has already won the loyalty of Boko Haram in Nigeria and many other jihad groups worldwide. Its claim to be the caliphate is validated every day, in the eyes of those who accept that claim, by the fact that none of those who have vowed to destroy the Islamic State have yet managed to do so.

“Al-Shabaab Faction Pledges Loyalty to ISIS After Killing 150 Christian Students,” by Stoyan Zaimov, Christian Post:

A senior spiritual leader of the al-Shabaab militant group in Somalia, which earlier this year massacred close to 150 Christian students, has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State terror group in Iraq and Syria.

“We, the mujahideen of Somalia, declare allegiance to the caliph as Ibrahim ibn Awad ibn Ibrahim al-Awad al-Qurashi,” Abdiqadir Mumin, an al-Shabaab commander in the Puntland region of Somalia, said in an audio tape, according to Reuters.

CNN pointed out that move further fractures al-Shabaab, as most of its remaining leaders are loyal to al Qaeda.

“The al-Shabaab-linked source told CNN that members of the group now fear for their lives as other political leaders systematically try to root out possible IS supporters within their ranks,” the report stated.

Al-Qaeda and IS remain in a rivalry for power, despite their shared opposition to the Western world. A great point of contention has been IS’ attacks and conquest of several cities in Syria, which went against al Qaeda’s wishes.

IS has recruited several other known terror groups, including Nigerian militants Boko Haram. Other groups from across the Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan and North Africa have all rallied under the jihadist banner as well.

Al-Shabaab made international news headlines in April when it murdered 152 people, mostly Christian students, in an attack on Garissa University College in Kenya. The mas shooting was carried out by four al-Shabaab gunmen, who purposeful separated Christian from Muslim students, before murdering the Christians.

The massacre sparked the #147notjustanumber social media campaign, named after the original death toll, which hoped to remind the world that the victims were real people with real lives that were taken away.

The Somali terror group has continued clashing with regional and African Union troops throughout the year, and during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan made pledges to murder “non-believers.”

“We are planning to give Kenyan non-believers a true taste of Jihad [the holy war] in the next few days and weeks,” a senior al-Shabaab commander said back in June.

CNN noted that only about 100 al-Shabaab fighters are expected to defect to IS, with mostly younger jihadists being drawn to IS, as the group is also known….
