Canadian MP Chris Bittle labels anti-ISIS protesters ‘white supremacists’

What if a returning Islamic State jihadi is white? Will Chris Bittle’s head explode?

Islam is not a race. Jihad is not a race. Trying to protect Canadians from jihad massacres is not “white supremacism.” Chris Bittle is a dangerous fool who has no place anywhere near government — in a sane society, that is.

“Canadian Liberal MP Labels Anti-Islamic State Protesters ‘White Supremacists,’” by Chris Tomlinson, Breitbart, January 7, 2018:

An MP of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party slammed protests in his city directed against returning Islamic State fighters, calling the protestors “racists” and “white supremacists.”

Liberal Party MP for St. Catherines Chris Bittle took to Facebook earlier this week to condemn a protest against Islamic State fighters returning from the Middle East to Canada in front of his office.

For Mr Bittle, the four or so people who carried signs reading “Jail ISIS Fighters” were, in his words, “white supremacists”, using the issue of Islamic State fighters to “promote their hateful, racist views.”

Since making the post Bittle has received over two thousand comments, with many asking Mr Bittle to point out the protesters’ links to white supremacist movements or ideologies. While Bittle did link to an post allegedly made by a person who he claimed led the protest which contained anti-Muslim imagery, many were not satisfied.

When one user asked Bittle to “put Canadians first” and refuse entry for returning Islamic State fighters, Bittle said “returning fighters are Canadians who have not been charged with a crime”.  He added that most returnees had come back to Canada under the previous conservative government.

Returning Islamic State fighters have become a major issue in Canada, with many seeing the Liberal government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau being incredibly weak on the issue.

Many slammed Mr Trudeau when he insisted that returning fighters would be deradicalised with podcasts and poetry, and that many of the returnees would be “an extraordinarily powerful voice for preventing radicalization.”…

Trudeau Government Calls Dangerous Jihadists ‘Returning Foreign Terrorist Travellers’

It is amazing that they included the word “terrorist.” It wouldn’t have been surprising if they had labeled them “foreign travellers suffering from islamophobia.” In any case, this is all part of what the Geller Report reported on Wednesday, that “Prime Minister Trudeau plans to ‘reintegrate’ ISIS terrorists into Canada.” To downplay the dangers they pose and present them as any kind of “foreign traveller” is myopic to the point of suicide.

These jihadis, once they return to Canada, are going to be given all manner of concessions and accommodations by the Trudeau government, just as we have seen elsewhere. In the UK, returning Muslim ISIS fighters are to be given taxpayer-funded homes. Finland is considering giving returning Islamic State jihadis priority housing. If Canada follows the same path, many of these jihadis are still going to go jihad in Canada. They don’t view gifts from the kuffar as a sign that they should show good will to the kuffar, just as good will has been shown to them. No. Instead, they view gifts from the kuffar as a sign of infidel weakness. A sign that they should step up the jihad and fight all the more fiercely.

So by coddling the jihadis, Trudeau is only buying more jihad.

“PATHETIC: Trudeau Government Calls Jihadis ‘Returning Foreign Terrorist Travellers,’” Spencer Fernando, November 17, 2017 (thanks to Blazing Cat Fur):

…Here’s what Trudeau government spokesman said Dan Brien (obviously using PMO approved talking points), when asked about Canada’s policies on ISIS fighters coming back to the country:

“Returning foreign terrorist travellers and their families, specifically women and children, require the appropriate disengagement and reintegration support.”

While the “reintegration support,” is the most disturbing part, the fact that the government is trying to “rebrand” dangerous Jihadis as “returning foreign terrorist travellers” is absurd.

This is disgracefully manipulative wording by the Trudeau government. These people weren’t sightseeing in a place terrorism happened to occur. They were actively fighting on behalf of a brutal terrorist organization.

It unfortunately fits with a troubling pattern of the Trudeau government prioritizing political correctness above all else, and seeking to downplay what is a real threat to the Canadian people. After all, other countries are trying to eliminate Jihadis before they can return, while the Trudeau government seems most worried about sounding “nice.”…

Muslim explains that he tried to murder woman because ‘I started listening to the Koran’

Almestadi “left Mary Hare with serious injuries, including a five-inch-long cut to her throat.”

“When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4)

“‘I was not aware of what I was doing at the time,’ says UBC attempted murder suspect,” by Bal Brach, CBC News, October 11, 2017:

The man charged with attempted murder in an attack at UBC last year admitted that he tried to kill the victim, but added that he didn’t know what he was doing during the incident.

“I tried to kill her,” Thamer Hameed Almestadi admitted in a videotaped interview with RCMP Sgt. Kevin Jeffrey.

“I was not aware of what I was doing at the time,” he added.

Almestadi has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon in the 2016 attack that left Mary Hare with serious injuries, including a five-inch-long cut to her throat.

In the hours-long interview that was played in court during day two of Almestadi’s trial, the UBC student was at times crying and remorseful, asking the officer if the victim was going to survive.

“Tell her I’m sorry …Tell her I made a mistake … I didn’t even know why her,” he said.

The international student from Saudi Arabia said that he hadn’t slept the night before the attack at UBC’s Salish House and was feeling overwhelmed by school work in the weeks leading up to the incident.

“I am so behind in school … I can’t get focused in school.”

Mary Hare was attacked with a knife in her dorm room at UBC last year. The trial for the accused in the attempted murder case began at B.C. Supreme Court Tuesday. (CBC News )

When asked by Sgt. Jeffrey why he might have attacked Mary Hare with a knife Almestadi said, “I started listening to the Koran and understanding the meanings differently.”

“If you read something and your mind is thinking something else, you understand differently.”

Almestadi — who was 18 at the time of the incident — said he even began seeing things that weren’t real.

“At that point I thought Mary was the devil,” he said….

21-year-old Muslim Habibullah Ahmad savagely beats 75-year-old woman in ‘most severe beating I’ve seen’

“This is not just another assault…This is maybe representing a new, dark side of Windsor that we can’t let propagate.”

Indeed. But it is propagating, and will continue to propagate. Justin Trudeau, stand up and take a bow.

The Qur’an says “When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (47:4). Instead, Habibullah Ahmad left Sara Anne Widholm with “multiple brain hemorrhages, a blood clot on the surface of her brain that was immediately threatening her life, extensive skull fractures, fractured vertebrae in her neck, a lacerated scalp, and a badly bruised face.” He must be a moderate.

“Unprovoked attack on 75-year-old woman ‘the most severe beating I’ve seen,’ says Windsor surgeon,” by Dalson Chen, Windsor Star, October 11, 2017 (thanks to Blazing Cat Fur):

The shocking weekend assault of a 75-year-old woman left her with head injuries so terrible that the surgeon who treated her says they’re among the worst he’s seen in his medical career in Windsor.

“In my 12 years in Windsor, this is the most severe beating I’ve seen,” said Dr. Balraj Jhawar, a neurosurgeon at the Ouellette Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital.

Sara Anne Widholm, a grandmother and Riverside resident, remained in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.

She has not awakened since she was found unconscious and battered on the Ganatchio Trail east of Riverdale Avenue and Little River on Sunday morning.

Speaking to the Star with the permission of Widholm’s family, Jhawar detailed a long list of damage.

She was brought to the hospital suffering from multiple brain hemorrhages, a blood clot on the surface of her brain that was immediately threatening her life, extensive skull fractures, fractured vertebrae in her neck, a lacerated scalp, and a badly bruised face.

“The worst skull fractures I’ve seen in my 12 years here in Windsor,” Jhawar repeated.

“I’ve submitted pictures to Windsor police. This is among the most brutal things I’ve seen in my career. … Her eyes were so bruised, they were swollen shut.”…

Windsor police are acknowledging the extreme nature of this unprovoked assault in a popular park area.

“This was, without a doubt, a vicious, vicious attack,” Windsor police spokesman Sgt. Steve Betteridge said Tuesday.

“It’s very alarming to see an attack of this nature, at that time of day, at that location.”

Windsor resident Habibullah Ahmad, 21, who goes by the first name Daniel, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault. He remained in custody at press time.

Aggravated assault is an indictable offence under the Criminal Code of Canada. It carries a maximum penalty of 14 years imprisonment.

It isn’t yet clear what led to the one-sided altercation. Police said Tuesday that the incident “appears to be random in nature.”…

“For all of us who live here in Windsor, we can’t tolerate this. This is not just another assault,” Jhawar said.

“This is concerning to me. This is maybe representing a new, dark side of Windsor that we can’t let propagate.”…

Trump wants tighter security on northern border after Edmonton jihadi evaded deportation by fleeing to Canada

“Mr. Sharif was arrested in San Diego in July of 2011 and ordered deported to Somalia by a judge later that year. He was then released, failed to report for his deportation and could not be located by U.S. authorities after January, 2012. U.S. authorities have said that Mr. Sharif had no known criminal history at the time. Mr. Sharif subsequently arrived in Canada and received refugee status. He now stands accused of stabbing a police officer outside a football game at Commonwealth Stadium on Sept. 30 and running down pedestrians in a truck during a later chase.”

And anyone who may have supported his deportation at the time would have been denounced as a racist, bigoted “Islamophobe.”

Abdulahi Hasan Sharif

“Trump administration cites Edmonton attack in call for immigration changes,” by Adrian Morrow, Globe and Mail, October 8, 2017:

The Trump administration wants to change the immigration rules that allowed a man accused of perpetrating a terrorist attack in Edmonton last month to evade a U.S. deportation order years ago and come to Canada.

The White House also wants to tighten security along the U.S. border with Canada as part of a plan to toughen immigration controls across the country.

One administration official cited the case of Abdulahi Hasan Sharif, 30, Sunday evening as President Donald Trump sent Congress a set of border-security and immigration changes he wants passed.

Mr.

30 and running down pedestrians in a truck during a later chase.

The administration official said Sunday that Mr. Sharif was released in 2011 because authorities were having trouble deporting him, as Somalia at the time was not repatriating its citizens. The official said the administration wants to “address” this problem.

In his message to Congress, Mr. Trump called for new rules that would “end the practice of catch-and-release” and give Immigration and Customs Enforcement more power to keep prospective deportees in custody until they are removed from the country. Part of the problem, the President wrote, was a 2001 Supreme Court decision that prevents authorities from detaining people for more than 180 days if there is no imminent prospect for their deportation….

Saudi Arabia claims to have fired “thousands” of “extremist” imams

Canada: 21-year-old Muslim man savagely beats 75-year-old woman in “random” assault, “most severe beating I’ve seen”

80% of Dawoodi Bohra Muslim women in Canada have undergone female genital mutilation

This story works hard to give the impression that female genital mutilation is practiced among Muslims only by Dawoodi Bohras, and by Christians and Jews elsewhere. This is a marginal improvement over establishment media stories about FGM before the arrests of the physicians in Michigan; until those arrests, establishment media stories universally claimed that the practice was cultural and not Islamic. But there is a long way to go before the establishment media gets to anything approaching the truth.

In reality FGM is sanctioned by Islamic law: “Circumcision is obligatory (for every male and female) (by cutting off the piece of skin on the glans of the penis of the male, but circumcision of the female is by cutting out the bazr ‘clitoris’ [this is called khufaadh ‘female circumcision’]).” — ‘Umdat al-Salik e4.3, translated by Mark Durie, The Third Choice, p. 64

And it is widespread in 30 Muslim countries, not just among the Dawoodi Bohras.

“Women in small Muslim sect say they have had FGM in Canada,” by Michele Henry and Jayme Poisson, Toronto Star, August 21, 2017:

Women from a small Muslim sect called the Dawoodi Bohras have reported that female genital mutilation has been performed on them in Canada, a study given to the federal government reveals.

The first research of its kind to probe the practice within this tightly knit South Asian community, the study found that 80 per cent of Bohra women surveyed have undergone FGM and two of the study’s 18 Canadian participants said it happened within Canada’s borders.

In Canada, FGM was added to the Criminal Code under aggravated assault in 1997. The study does not provide additional information on the two cases it uncovered.

Most commonly associated with communities in sub-Saharan Africa, FGM is also practised among members of this Muslim sect who trace their roots to Yemen in the 11th century and who migrated to Gujarat, India, in the 1500s.

Authored by Sahiyo, an organization of anti-FGM activists and members of the Dawoodi Bohra community, the study was completed in February. Preliminary results went to officials from Canada’s Foreign Affairs Department in June 2016. The federal government says it is looking into the issue.

The researcher’s findings show that more than 80 per cent of the 385 Dawoodi Bohra women surveyed — including all 18 Canadian participants — want the practice to end and would not do it to their daughters.

Female genital mutilation, also known as female genital cutting or female circumcision, is a procedure that intentionally alters or causes injury to external female organs. It can be inflicted on girls as young as 1 and varies in severity from partial removal of the clitoris to excising the clitoris and labia and stitching up the walls of the vulva to leave only a tiny opening.

Khatna is the South Asian term for genital cutting and, according to the study, the sect’s practice of removing a woman’s clitoris is done for reasons including “religious purposes,” to curb sexual arousal, for cleanliness and to maintain customs and traditions.

The Dawoodi Bohras have recently made FGM-related headlines. A Detroit emergency room doctor charged in April with alleged performing of FGM on 100 young girls is a Dawoodi Bohra. The doctor, Jumana Nagarwala, is in jail awaiting trial. In 2016, a Dawoodi Bohra priest in Sydney, Australia, was convicted for his role in performing FGM.

“The findings (of the study) demonstrate that FGC (female genital cutting) is deeply rooted in the community’s culture,” the authors write. Sahiyo means “friends” in Gujarati.

“Understanding the complex social norms and cultural values systems that shape the meaning and significance of the practice within this community is critical work of anti-FGC advocates.”

For this story, the Star also spoke with three local Dawoodi Bohra women who described what it’s like to undergo khatna in their native countries of India and Kenya at the hands of “practitioners,” not doctors, in non-medical environments such as kitchens, with unsterile razors.

A continuing Star investigation has revealed that Canadian girls have been taken overseas to have the procedure and that thousands more could be at risk of being sent abroad to be subjected to FGM.

Practitioners who perform FGM are “almost certainly entering Canada” to engage in the practice, says an internal report from Canada Border Services Agency, as reported by Global News in July.

FGM is a cultural practice dating back hundreds of years, and organizations including the United Nations say that although it is often perceived as being connected to some Islamic groups, it also occurs in other religious communities, including Christians, Ethiopian Jews and certain traditional African religions.

Only where those non-Muslim communities live in close proximity to a much larger Muslim population.

…The emails say officials learned from the report how over the past two decades there has been a regression of gender equality in the Dawoodi Bohra community worldwide and there is “significant hidden violence against women.” There are roughly 20,000 to 40,000 Dawoodi Bohras in Canada, according to the federal emails.

Titled “Understanding Female Genital Cutting in the Dawoodi Bohra Community,” the Sahiyo study surveyed 385 Dawoodi Bohra women across the globe, including women in Canada, the U.S., Australia and the United Kingdom, in an attempt to shed light where “little or no data” exists. It aims to inform policy makers and health professionals in order to “end the practice,” the study said, that has left most of its participants with emotional scars — anger, haunting memories and frustration in their sexual lives.

“I feel robbed and cheated of my sexuality,” one respondent told the study’s researchers.

Shaheeda Tavawalla-Kirtane, Sahiyo’s Canadian co-founder, who works in India to raise awareness about FGM, said she has been tweeting to Canadian ministers because Canada should be aware this “crime” is happening on its soil. The Sahiyo study suggests creating a hotline for at-risk girls and education about FGM for front-line workers, such as teachers.

Some of the study’s participants reported that, typically at the age of 7, they were told they were having the procedure to remove a “worm” and that khatna was part of the religion.

The religious justification for this practice may come from passages in the Da’aim al-Islam, a sacred Islamic text that informs the tenets and traditions of the Dawoodi Bohras. According to The Pillars of Islam, a respected translation of the text, cutting will lead to “greater purity.”…

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau Objects to Calling Honor Killings Barbaric

Meagan Fitzpatrick from CBC News in a column titled “Trudeau retracts ‘barbaric’ remarks” reported:

Liberal MP Justin Trudeau offered an apology and retraction Tuesday over comments he made about the description of honour killings as “barbaric” in a new citizenship guide.

The apology came shortly after the Montreal MP spent most of his morning trying to defend and explain his comments on the social media website Twitter.

“Perhaps I got tangled in semantic weeds in my comments, particularly in view of the Conservatives’ cynicism on these issues,” Trudeau said in a statement. “I want to make it clear that I think the acts described are heinous, barbaric acts that are totally unacceptable in our society.”

The controversy around Trudeau started brewing on Monday when the MP, who is immigration critic for his party, was asked for reaction to the government’s new citizenship guide released earlier in the day. The publication is used as the study guide for Canada’s citizenship test.

The updated Discover Canada booklet includes a line that says, “Canada’s openness and generosity do not extend to barbaric cultural practices that tolerate spousal abuse, ‘honour killings,’ female genital mutilation, forced marriage or other gender-based violence.”

The term “barbaric” has been in the guide since 2009, but “forced marriage” was added to the line in this new version.

Trudeau took the government to task, however, for using the term “barbaric” and said an official government publication should make an “attempt at responsible neutrality.” He said the acts are “absolutely unacceptable” and that’s not a matter of debate, but the language chosen by the government to describe them is objectionable, the MP said.

Statement by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau saying he thinks the government shouldn’t call honour killings barbaric.

SHOT FIRED INTO CAR FULL OF WOMEN OUTSIDE NIGHTCLUB NETS MULTIPLE CHARGES FOR CALGARY MAN

Suspect fled after opening fire, followed closely by a tactical unit officer who happened to be nearby

CBC News, Jun 26, 2017 (thanks to Mark):

Calgary police arrested and charged a 32-year-old Calgary man with a shooting early on Sunday morning. (David Bell/CBC)A Calgary man has been charged following a shooting early on Sunday morning.

The incident took place in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue S.W. around 1 a.m. Four women left a nightclub, got into a nearby car and ended up in a verbal confrontation with man who was standing with a group of people in the parking lot, according to police.

That man allegedly opened fire on the car before fleeing.

The bullet entered the car and lodged in the front passenger seat, police said. No one was injured.

The fleeing suspect was followed by an on-duty Calgary police tactical unit member who happened to be in the area.

“The officer followed the accused from the scene and was able to challenge the suspect a short distance away,” said police in a news release. “The man was taken into custody without further incident.”

Police said they found a handgun near where the suspect, identified as Mohamed A-Kadir Abukar, was arrested.

The 32-year-old has been charged with one count each of:

  • Discharge of a firearm with intent.
  • Discharge of a firearm.
  • Recklessness.
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
  • Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.

Abukar has also been charged with four counts of breach of prohibition order for possession of firearms.

Quebec Premier: ‘You cannot disconnect…terrorism from Islam in general’

“Haroun Bouazzi, co-president of the Association of Muslims and Arabs for a Secular Quebec, said..expecting the community to detect a lone wolf who buys a knife and travels to Michigan is asking a lot…’This person had an understanding of his faith that allowed him to kill people.’…Bouazzi said that instead of dwelling on the responsibility of Muslim leaders to prevent extremism, Couillard’s government should be tackling the exclusion of young Muslims that can lead to radicalization. ‘If somebody has to take responsibility for prevention, it’s the government,’ he said.”

Bouazzi does not explain how Ftouhi got “an understanding of his faith that allowed him to kill people.” Was it in a mosque in Quebec? Nor did he explain why the government has the responsibility to do something about this, but the Muslim community doesn’t. How can the Quebec government, a non-Muslim entity, change Muslims’ understanding of their faith?

Note that his declaration that “Couillard’s government should be tackling the exclusion of young Muslims that can lead to radicalization” is based on the assumption that has been discredited in numerous studies, that poverty and lack of opportunity leads to terrorism. It is essentially a veiled attempt at extortion, an attempt to compel the Quebec government to shower millions of dollars on the Muslim community, in the vain hope that it will eradicated jihad terrorism by doing so.

Couillard is to be commended for speaking an obvious truth that few dare to enunciate. Let’s hope he stands his ground.

Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard

“After Michigan attack, Quebec Premier calls on Muslim community to play role in preventing terrorism,” by Graeme Hamilton, National Post, June 22, 2017 (thanks to Michael):

MONTREAL – When Islamist terrorists strike in the West, it has become standard for political leaders to stress that the actions of a few should not tarnish an entire community. On Thursday, Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard chose a different approach.

Responding to the arrest of Amor Ftouhi of Montreal after a terror assault in Michigan, Couillard said the province’s Muslim community needs to do more to prevent terrorism.

“Unfortunately, you cannot disconnect this type of event – terrorism – from Islam in general,” Couillard said in Quebec City when asked if he was worried the attack would fuel anti-Muslim sentiment. He said he shares the position French President Emmanuel Macron expressed this week in a speech to Muslim community leaders.

“He told them, it’s also your responsibility to act on the theological front, to explain to your people that this (terrorism) is not part of the religion, that it is contrary to the teachings of the religion. There is a dual responsibility,” Couillard said….

Couillard said his government is “completely against” intolerance and discrimination, but there are fears among Quebec Muslims that the latest attack and the premier’s reaction will feed a backlash.

“With remarks like this, saying Islam cannot be disconnected from terrorism, Mr. Couillard is pouring oil on the fire,” said Eve Torres, co-ordinator of a group that works to integrate Muslim women into Quebec society. “He is premier, and not only is he saying Islam and terrorism are inseparable, he says the responsibility for terrorism falls also on the Muslim community. It endangers communities that are already stigmatized.”

Haroun Bouazzi, co-president of the Association of Muslims and Arabs for a Secular Quebec, said community members have for years been working to combat radicalization. When young Quebecers seeking to join the jihad are arrested, it is usually an imam or family member who has tipped off police, he said.

But expecting the community to detect a lone wolf who buys a knife and travels to Michigan is asking a lot, he said.

“This person had an understanding of his faith that allowed him to kill people. That is obviously the reality, and we cannot bring back the words of ‘Allahu akbar’ inside his mouth. He actually yelled that,” Bouazzi said.

“But to link this fact and the responsibility of Muslim communities to play a special role more than any normal citizen is actually stigmatizing.”

Couillard was inspired by a speech Macron gave before the French Council of the Muslim Faith Tuesday night at a meal to break the Ramadan fast.

“It is up to you, religious leaders, to fight toe to toe on theological and religious terrain, to expose the usurping of your values, the appropriation of your religion’s history, the negation of 15 centuries of interpretation work done by your scholars,” Macron said. He added, “The battle of thought and faith must be fought on the ground, especially among the younger generations.”

Last week, Statistics Canada published data showing a sharp increase in hate crimes against Muslims in Quebec — even before taking into account the January attack on a Quebec City mosque that killed six. Bouazzi and Torres were among a group of Muslim activists who called on the government to deliver promised programs to combat racism.

Bouazzi said that instead of dwelling on the responsibility of Muslim leaders to prevent extremism, Couillard’s government should be tackling the exclusion of young Muslims that can lead to radicalization. “If somebody has to take responsibility for prevention, it’s the government,” he said.
