Ex-Muslim Christian apologist Nabeel Qureshi dies at age 34

Nabeel Qureshi was that rarest of things today: an honest man. A man who would pursue the truth no matter where it took him, and no matter what the cost.

I didn’t know him well. I had the honor of meeting him in Ohio in 2009, at Pamela Geller’s rally for his fellow ex-Muslim, Rifqa Bary. He was true then, and consistent.

May his memory be eternal.

“Nabeel Qureshi Dies at Age 34,” CBN News, September 16, 2017:

Ex-Muslim turned Christian apologist, Nabeel Qureshi, passed away Saturday after a year-long battle with stomach cancer.

The 34-year-old left behind a wife and two-year-old daughter.

The very man who led Nabeel to Christ, David Wood, announced his death on Twitter saying, “My beloved bother Nabeel, rest in peace and joy with the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.”

Qureshi was born and raised in the United States to a devout Pakistani Muslim family.

“My earliest memories are of my mother everyday sitting me next to her and having me put on my skull cap and showing me how to recite the Qur’an letter by letter. I finished the Qur’an when I was five-years-old,” Qureshi explains in a video about his journey to Christ.

He also learned how to defend the doctrines of his Muslim faith and would often challenge non-believers to debates during his time in school.

Qureshi finally met his match when he attended Old Dominion University in Virginia and met David Wood. He challenged Wood’s Christian faith when he saw him reading a Bible by himself. Thus began a two and a half year period where the pair challenged each other on the doctrines of their faiths.

Eventually, Qureshi realized his arguments for Islam crumbled under the evidence for Christ’s death, burial, resurrection, and divinity.

“At the end of my research, the arguments for and against Islam still hung in the balance, but one thing was abundantly clear: they were far from approaching the strength of the case for Christianity,” Qureshi said.

But it wasn’t just the physical evidence that convinced Qureshi. He had three prophetic dreams about Christ that eventually won him over.

Qureshi accepted Christ as his savior and faced the difficult task of telling his parents.

‘When my parents did find out it was probably the most painful day of my life,” Qureshi said. “To have Christ in my life makes every loss worth it.

He went on to study Christian Apologetics at Biola University, while also getting his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He later completed a degree in religion at Duke University and entered a phD program in New Testament studies at Oxford University. Qureshi also became an itinerant speaker with Ravi Zacharias’ International Ministry.

Qureshi published three books, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity, and Answering Jihad: A Better Way Forward, and No God but One: Allah of Jesus? A Former Muslim Investigates the evidence for Islam and Christianity.

Qureshi made the official announcement of his cancer diagnosis August 2016.

“This is an announcement that I never expected to make, but God in his infinite and sovereign wisdom has chosen me for this refining, and I pray he will be glorified through my body and my spirit. My family and I have received the news that I had advanced stomach cancer and the prognosis is quite grim,” he said in a Facebook post….

Iran orders Christian children to study Qur’an or be expelled from school

There is constant low-level pressure upon non-Muslims in Iran, with an eye toward compelling them to convert to Islam out of sheer exhaustion over the difficulty of living as a non-Muslim. This is also one of the motivations behind the dhimmitude system: to make life as a non-Muslim so uncomfortable that one converts to Islam simply for some breathing room.

“Iran Threatens To Expel Christian Children From Schools,” by Stefan J. Bos, BosNewsLife, September 7, 2017 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

TEHRAN, IRAN (BosNewsLife)– Iran’s government has ordered children belonging to families of one of the country’s largest house church movements to study the Koran and Shi’a Islam teachings or face expulsion from school, a church official confirmed to BosNewsLife Thursday, September 7. The Church of Iran movement is also concerned about four jailed members saying one of them “was deported to a feared secret police facility” in the southern city of Shiraz.

These latest education measures and pressure on Christian prisoners are part of a government campaign against Bible believing Christians in the Islamic nation, according to Christians familiar with the situation. “Right now [Iranian President Hassan] Rouhani wants to prove that he is a good Muslim by persecuting Christians,” said Firouz Khandjani, a Church of Iran council member. “Most of the new Christians are former Muslims.”

The government-backed policy adopted by school authorities in Shiraz and the coastal city of Rasht deprives Christian children of primary and secondary education unless they agree to religious instruction that does not conform to their faith, he confirmed.

Parents and other believers might also face prison for openly confessing that Jesus is Lord, seen as blasphemy by strict Islamic authorities, BosNewsLife learned. The Church of Iran said it now fears mistreatment of active members Mohammad Roghangir, Bijan Haghighi, Eskandar Rezaie and Surush Saraie who are behind bars in Shiraz.

In 2013, Roghangir was sentenced to six years and Massoud Rezaie to five years imprisonment on what their friends viewed as “trumped-up charges” such as “action against the national security” and “propaganda against the system.”

NEW DETENTION

Saraie was “re-arrested” at his home in Shiraz after being released early from Adelabad Prison in November 2015 while Rezaie, was detained again in July, after being released temporarily from Adelabad Prison in December 2015, Christians said.

Both men were initially captured in October 2012, along with five other Christians, during a police raid on a prayer meeting, and found guilty of threatening national security and propaganda against the Islamic state. Saraie received a two-and-a-half year sentence in July 2013, later upheld on appeal, which he began serving in July 2014. Rezaie received a one year sentence, which started in July 2015.

One of them, Surush Saraie, was recently taken to Pelak 100, a notorious detention center run by the Intelligence Services (VEVAK), Khandjani explained. “It’s like the Gestapo [during World War Two].” While there, attempts were allegedly made to pressure him into making confessions, he said. “Usually they want to make us confess that we receive money from Britain or the United States to shake Islamic values,” Khandjani noted.

“The authorities are trying to eradicate Christianity, just as the Islamic State group, but smarter,” claimed Khandjani, who is himself in hiding….

Church accused of being ‘anti-Muslim’ for not allowing Qur’an studies

Which mosques in Wales host Bible studies? Right, none. Which are accused of being “anti-Christian”? Right, none.

“Church denies being ‘anti-Muslim’ after group barred from using Caernarfon hall for Koran studies,” by Hywel Trewyn, Daily Post, September 2, 2017 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

A Christian church has been accused of a “lack of unity” after it rejected a Muslim group’s bid to hold Koran studies in its hall.

A group of Muslims wanted to use the Feed My Lambs church hall – a former infant school – for “Koran and cultural studies”, and they had already used it twice.

But after initially being allowed to hire the space, their cheque for hiring it again was returned to them.

Today, the Church in Wales said the hall – which was part-funded by Heritage Lottery money – was available for “secular” activities.

But Kenny Khan, the councillor representing the Muslim group – said the decision was disappointing and seemed like a backwards step.

‘I was very clear that they were Muslims’

He added: “It was all explained clearly to the church that it was for religious and cultural classes.

“I was very clear that they were Muslims. There was no ambiguity.”

Three days after their first meeting, Cllr Khan received a phone call from Llanbeblig Rector, the Reverend Roger Donaldson who, although not party to the arrangement, said there had been “a misunderstanding” and that they couldn’t accept the cheque for £320, which was sent to Llanbeblig Parochial Church Council.

Mr Khan – who is not Muslim himself – added: “Christians and Muslims joined together in Bangor after the Manchester bombing.

“The church knew it was going to be used for cultural classes.

“Two men from the church came into the hall to collect the cheque and actually saw the congregation praying on their mats.

“These people pay local taxes. The hall has been Lottery-funded and is for the use of the community. They’ve accepted the cheque and something has happened.”

But Rev Donaldson told the Daily Post there had been a “misunderstanding”, and that it was initially thought the group were looking to use the hall for bible studies.

He said: “The understanding was they were going to hold ‘bible readings’.

“We are not against Islam; no way. Everybody has the right to worship as they please.

“We are not against colour or race. It was just not possible. There has been a breakdown in our public relations.”

In a further statement issued today by the Church in Wales, Reverend Donaldson said: “Feed My Lambs is used for Christian worship and is considered to be a place of worship….

VIDEO: The Collapse of British Culture

At the federal level in Britain, there can be no Christian prayer in government meetings.

At the local level in Manchester, England, a government meeting opens with Islamic prayer.

A young man wrote on his body, Stop Muslim Rape Gangs. This in reference to “Asian” rape gangs in the media. He was arrested for inciting racial hatred.

The West has always failed to call Muslims, “Muslims.” Instead they call them Arabs, Saracens, Turks, Moors, and now the Brits call them Asians.

The British spend their political capital to denigrate their own culture and elevate Islam.

We are seeing the collapse of Britain due to a civilizational war with Islam.

ISIS threatens Pope Francis and Catholic Church in new video

The Pope has all but submitted to Islam. And yet it doesn’t matter. More accommodation gives way to more demands, more submission, and in the end, they kill you anyway. So why not stand up and be righteous and fight for what’s right?

“ISIS threatens Pope Francis and Catholic Church in new video,” Catholic Herald, August 25, 2017:

ISIS has released a video showing its fighters ripping up photographs of Pope Francis and threatening to come to Rome.

Filmed in the Philippines, where the terrorists have been fighting the government for control of the city of Marawi, the video also shows the destruction the group have wreaked on a Catholic church.

The jihadists brag about how they have freed inmates from a local jail, with one addressing the camera saying: “Remember this, you kuffar [non-Muslims] – we will be in Rome, we will be in Rome, inshallah [god willing].”

The video also shows them destroying a crucifix and a statue of the Virgin Mary. It finishes with the church in flames, and one of the terrorists explaining: “After all their efforts, it would be the religion of the cross that would be broken.”

“The crusaders’ enmity toward the Muslims only served to embolden a generation of youth,” he adds….

Catholic school removes statues of Jesus and Mary to avoid offending Muslims

“The students attending San Domenico come from a variety of religious backgrounds besides Christianity: Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam.”

Hmm. Which of those four is likely to have been the only one objecting to the presence of these statues? And so here again we see the universal principle: in Muslim countries, one must change one’s behavior to suit Muslim sensibilities. And in non-Muslim countries, one must change one’s behavior to suit Muslim sensibilities.

“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

“San Anselmo’s San Domenico School creates stir by removing Catholic statues,” by Richard Halstead, Marin Independent Journal, August 24, 2017:

Removal of a number of statues and other smaller Catholic icons from the campus of San Domenico School in San Anselmo has raised concerns among some parents.

In an email to the school’s board of directors, Dominican Sisters of San Rafael and the head of school, Shannon Fitzpatrick objected to the removal of the statues and other steps the school has taken in an effort to make the school more inclusive.

“Articulating an inclusive foundation appears to mean letting go of San Domenico’s 167-year tradition as a Dominican Catholic school and being both afraid and ashamed to celebrate one’s heritage and beliefs,” wrote Fitzpatrick, whose 8-year-old son attends the school.

She added, “In our time here, the word ‘Catholic’ has been removed from the mission statement, sacraments were removed from the curriculum, the lower school curriculum was changed to world religions, the logo and colors were changed to be ‘less Catholic,’ and the uniform was changed to be less Catholic.”

Responding to follow-up questions Monday, Fitzpatrick wrote, “There are other families having the same concerns I do. Many parents feel if the school is heading in a different direction then the San Domenico community should have been notified before the signing of the enrollment for the following year.”

Cheryl Newell, who had four children graduate from San Domenico, said, “I am extremely disappointed in the school and the direction they’ve been going. This isn’t a new thing that they’ve been intentionally eroding their Catholic heritage. They’re trying to be something for everyone and they’re making no one happy,”

Kim Pipki, whose daughter left San Domenico two years ago after graduating from ninth grade, said some of the statues were also important to families who aren’t Catholic.

“The one main statue that has everyone fired up is the baby Jesus and Mary one,” Pipki said. “It was at the center of the primary school courtyard.”

Pipki said the school had a ceremony during which children would place a crown on the statue of Mary.

“It was less about God and more about passing on some traditions,” Pipki said. “People were shocked that the statues were pitched in the basement.”

Amy Skewes-Cox, who heads San Domenico School’s board of trustees, said the relocation and removal of some of the school’s 180 religious icons was “completely in compliance” with San Domenico’s new strategic plan, approved unanimously by the board of trustees and the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael last year. She said at least 18 icons remain, including a statue of St. Dominic at the center of the campus.

She noted that it was unfortunate the removal of the statues occurred at about the same time as the unrest in Charlottesville over the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, and that the issues are “totally different” and have “absolutely no connection other than it is change, and people have a hard time with change.”…

One of the strategic plan’s stated goals is to “strengthen San Domenico’s identity as an independent school” and clearly articulate its “inclusive spiritual foundation.”

San Domenico was founded by the Dominican Sisters in 1850 as an independent, Catholic school — meaning that it is not owned or operated by a parish or religious order.

“San Domenico is both a Catholic school and an independent school,” said Head of School Cecily Stock, “but what we were finding after doing some research is that in the broader community we are known as being a Catholic school and are not necessarily known as an independent school. We want to make sure that prospective families are aware that we are an independent school.”

Of the 660 students who attend the K-12 school, 121 are boarding students and 98 of these are international students from British Columbia, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Mexico, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. The students attending San Domenico come from a variety of religious backgrounds besides Christianity: Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam….

Muslim migrants beat Polish tourist, gang-rape his wife on Italian beach

Rimini Beach, Italy.

The Qur’an teaches that Infidel women can be lawfully taken for sexual use (cf. its allowance for a man to take “captives of the right hand,” 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” (33:59) The implication there is that if women do not cover themselves adequately with their outer garments, they may be abused, and that such abuse would be justified.

“Italy: Polish Man Beaten Unconscious and Wife Gang Raped on Rimini Beach, African Migrants Suspected,” by Jack Montgomery, Breitbart, August 26, 2017:

A young couple from Poland were subjected to a “brutal and beastly attack” by four men suspected to be African migrants on a beach in Rimini, Italy.

The 26-year-olds were taking an evening stroll on their last night in the popular tourist spot when they were set upon by four men, Wiadomości reports.

The young man was beaten unconscious by the gang, who then subjected his partner to multiple rapes in front of him. Both were also robbed.

The Polish consulate in Milan say they are providing every assistance to the couple, who were both hospitalised following their ordeal.

Italian authorities have described the “brutal and beastial [sic] attack” as an “act of cruel aggression”, and called on the public “to cooperate with the police forces informing each and every element that may be of use in the investigation”….

The number of foreigners living in Italy as residents has rocketed by 25 per cent from 2012 to January 2017, and by an astonishing 270 per cent between 2002 and 2017 — statistics which may herald a significant and possibly irreversible demographic shift.

The Brazilian Visionary Who Sounded Warnings About Islam in the 1940s

Dateline, Paris, France 2017: They say that canaries forewarn about the impending calamities and natural disasters. Can there be human canaries that predict the onset of cultural disasters?  Yes! One of them (shunned by the Left, of course) definitely was this somewhat obscure Brazilian intellectual who lived and wrote during the worst times in the history of the Western world. Chances are that few in our audience have heard of Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira (1908-1995), a Brazilian politician, professor, priest and Catholic activist. He was the youngest congressman in Brazil’s history. He was the chair of Modern and Contemporary History at the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

A conservative Catholic intellectual by upbringing, he served as also the first president of the Sao Paulo Archdiocesan Board of Catholic Action. He opposed the religious reforms at the Vatican II council in the 1960’s, taking issue with Catholic liberalism. Not only that but politically speaking – he was ahead of his time because he was far-sighted politically – historically. He was a visionary of things distant in a world of short-sighted and scheming, petty men at a time when the Western peoples were busy pitilessly slaughtering each other during World War Two [1936/1939-1945] a conflict in which no side can claim a victory with pride or honor because had there been honor – a war like that would not have been allowed to occur. He wrote a number of insightful books in which he warned about the coming global conflict between the West and Islam. He tried to frame a binding perspective that would help save the West.

In the excerpts from his books (Revolution and Counter-Revolution, The Church and the Communist State: The Impossible Coexistence, In Defense of Catholic Action) quoted below, you will find the snippets of his thought that give a solid and accurate impression of his thinking. Needless to say, his pronouncements have been validated by the happenings since that time in the first half of the 20th century. Moreover, sadly, his thoughts are not mainstream ideas even today, at this late hour in the losing ideological battle against the unbending world of Islam and its satanic cult of victimhood for the sake of victimhood as a cover for evil.

He could have also added, “the oil resources of the Arab world will be leveraged against the West with the help of Western corporations and greedy politicians with no statesmanlike qualities“.

IS ISLAM CONQUERING EUROPE?

A final forecast of Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira deserves to be recalled, at an hour in history where the shadow of Islam, laden with threats, looms on Europe.

At the end of the 20th century, Muslim immigration, which is ever more massive, has a religious and political significance because of the close connection between these two realities in the religion of Mohammed. This totalitarian perspective is made more insidious by the fact that Islam is a religion without dogma or Magisterium [official ruling authority in charge of faith], without Church or hierarchy, and therefore capable of adapting itself in a protean way to the social realities in which it develops.

As early as the 1940s, Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira predicted in the “Legionario” the possibility of this peril, which is now manifesting itself in all its magnitude.

While the eyes of political observers were focused solely on what was happening in Europe, he was directing his gaze towards the East, where, around Islam, he saw the germs of the “constitution of another vast political bloc and Ideological, oriental, anti-Catholic”. “The Muslim peril is immense,” he wrote in 1943, and the following year he asserted that “after this war [World War II] the Muslim problem will be one of the most serious religious questions of our time.

“The Muslim world possesses the natural resources essential to the supply of Europe. It will have the means to disturb or paralyze at any moment the pace of the European economy”. “While a great and glorious Catholic nation like Italy suffers from the communist intoxication that has penetrated into it, the Muslims structure themselves powerfully. These days they had the audacity to signal to the Western world by inviting him to accept a Palestinian government in exile with its seat in Cairo. This is a true declaration of diplomatic war on the West.”

“The Arab League – a very extensive confederation of Muslim peoples – now unites the entire Mohammedan world. It is, conversely, what Christendom was in the Middle Ages. With regard to the non-Arab nations, it presents itself as a vast pool of tribal manhood preparing an insurrection in all of Africa”.

He declared late in 1943: “Nowadays, everything is done through money, weapons and men, there is no shortage of money and men in the Muslim world, and the acquisition of weapons will not be difficult. The latter will be active, warlike, penetrated by its traditions, an enemy of the West and just as armed as he, and in a short time this power may become as influential as the yellow world [the Far East].”

As for the western politicians, de Oliviera declared: “One thing is to have sight, another is vision“.

The Democrat Party: The New Anti-Semitism Party

Warren, Booker, Gillibrand — it’s not them — it’s the party. It’s not possible to be on the left today and support Israel. You have to support the “Palestinian” jihad, and turn a blind eye to the savage murder of innocent civilians, including families eating Shabbat dinner and sleeping in their beds. The Democrats: the New Evil Party.

“Elizabeth Warren Comes Out Against Senate’s Anti-BDS Bill,” by David Colon, Gothamist, August 8, 2017:

As debate continues to rage over the Israel Anti-Boycott Act, and one rumored 2020 presidential candidate distances herself from it, another prominent Democrat and rumored presidential candidate has come out against it as well. Senator Elizabeth Warren announced her opposition to the bill this week, calling it a violation of free speech.

Warren, who was never a sponsor of the bill, was asked about it by a constituent at a town hall last night. In response, she said that while she disagreed with BDS, she also said that “outlawing free speech-protected activity violates our basic constitution.”

The bill is an addition to the Export Act of 1979, which criminalized a company knowingly joining the Arab League boycott of Israel. This addition would update the bill to criminalize US companies from joining on to boycotts of US allies called for by intergovernmental organizations such as the United Nations or the European Union. Violations could be punishable by up to $1 million in fines and 20 years in prison.

Besides Warren, other Democratic Senators are feeling the heat regarding the bill as well. Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon was confronted by constituents this past weekend who questioned why he supported the bill. Wyden argues that the bill simply updates the previous 1979 law targeting the Arab League boycott of Israel, and that no one has been imprisoned for violating that.

While supporters of the law like Wyden and Chuck Schumer claim that the bill doesn’t infringe on free speech, a critic of the bill suggests that it still does, even if it doesn’t punish individuals participating in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement….

“Democrats Who Want to Be President Back Away from Israel,”

by Jonathan S. Tobin, National Review, August 7, 2017:

The shift to the left by Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York demonstrates the power of a party base that is abandoning the Jewish state.

Both were once rock-solid supporters of Israel. But both have other priorities these days — they are thinking about running for president in 2020. Their problem is that no one who plans to compete in future Democratic primaries can ignore the growing power of their party’s left wing, which has grown increasingly hostile to Israel.

The influence of the far left is the only thing that might explain why Booker and Gillibrand are presenting themselves to their party’s base as less than fully supportive of Israel. The context for this development is a sea change in the Democratic party that has been taking shape over the past two decades. Where once the Democrats were the lockstep pro-Israel party and Republicans were divided about backing Israel, the parties’ positions are now reversed. Republicans today are nearly unanimous in their enthusiastic support for the Jewish state, and they oppose all measures that endanger its security. Now it is the Democrats who are split, with polls showing that those who identify with the party are far less likely to back Israel than Republicans are.

The left-wing grass roots of the Democratic party are increasingly hostile to Israel, something that became clear in 2012 when the delegates at the Democratic National Convention revolted against their leadership’s efforts to include in the party platform a recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The delegates booed loudly and rejected the measure in a voice vote while the convention chairman ignored the crowd and declared that the measure had passed. The spectacle was a benchmark moment.

Congressional Democrats also demonstrated the limits of their sympathy for Israel during the debate over the Iran nuclear deal. When President Obama declared that support for the agreement was a litmus test of party loyalty, few Democrats bucked him. Both Gillibrand and Booker supported the deal’s ratification by the backhanded method the administration employed rather than by gaining the support of two-thirds of the Senate – which the Constitution requires for treaties.

In 2016, Democrats growing split over Israel was evident in the Clinton and Sanders campaigns. The candidates disagreed over Israel’s right of self-defense and over support for Palestinian ambitions — one of the few areas where they differed substantively. The Clinton forces were able to quash any potential revolt over the issue, but the presence on the platform committee of Sanders delegates such as Representative Keith Ellison and Cornel West — prominent supporters of anti-Israel measures — was a harbinger of the growing animosity toward Israel….

Christian to be deported to Iran, told ‘it’s your problem you decided to become a Christian’

“An Iranian actress, who moved to Sweden after her conversion from Islam to Christianity” is being deported back to Iran.

Shame on Sweden. The country is already under siege from Islamic supremacists and jihadists because of its suicidal immigration policy. 80 percent of its police force wants to quit because of its dangerous work. Violent no go zones have expanded to include a mall and respectable business districts. The country is the rape capital of Europe. It has been deemed on the verge of civil war. But instead of deporting the real troublemakers, Sweden is turning its back on Aideen Strandsson, who possibly faces death for apostasy at the hands of Iranian regime if she is sent back.

Rather than receive from Swedish authorities the slightest sympathy and humanitarian assistance, Strandsson says she was told:

“It’s not our problem if you decided to become a Christian” even if the refusal of asylum results in rape, torture or death.

Aideen Strandsson

Oddly, Sweden has a reputation as “the world’s humanitarian conscience and a safe haven for refugees.” Sweden would apparently prefer to see its country continue to be decimated by the wrong kind of asylum seekers than extend a helping hand to this innocent Christian lady.

“Sweden Tells Iranian Christian Woman Fearing Deportation It’s Her ‘Problem She Decided to Become Christian’”,

by Anugrah Kumar , Christian Post, August 7, 2017:

An Iranian actress, who moved to Sweden after her conversion from Islam to Christianity following a vision of Jesus in her dream, is now facing deportation and has been told by Swedish authorities “it’s not our problem if you decided to become a Christian” even if the refusal of asylum results in rape, torture or death.

“They said to me it’s your personal life and it’s not our problem if you decided to become a Christian, and it’s your problem,” Christian Broadcasting Network quoted Aideen Strandsson as saying.

Strandsson traveled to Sweden in 2014 on a work visa, and has twice been denied asylum in that country. “It is really dangerous for me and I don’t know why immigration doesn’t believe that,” she said. “I’m really in danger.”

However, Swedish authorities do not seem to care. “Her case has been appealed and processed by the Migration Agency and thereafter by the Swedish courts, which have also decided that she cannot be granted asylum,” Swedish migration board official Ulrika Langels told CBN.

Swedish attorney Gabriel Donner pointed out, “The (Swedish) migration board information regarding Iranian prisons tell us that torture and rape is common and it is a breach of international law to subject any person to such treatment. Some of them are killed straight off, some of them succeed in going into hiding, some of them escape to another place, but you are putting them at risk.”

Strandsson’s Iranian passport has been taken away. Her first choice is to remain in Sweden, if possible, the actress said.

“I read the Bible and I understood what Jesus said about peace, about love, about kindness, and in my heart I became a Christian when I was in Iran,” she said earlier.

Sweden has otherwise been generous in granting asylum to others.

In April, a prominent pro-choice activist from El Salvador, Maria Teresa Rivera, became the first known person to be granted asylum for “abortion persecution” after Sweden agreed to provide her protection from “political persecution” in her country.

The Swedish Migration Agency officially granted Rivera and her 11-year-old son political asylum, agreeing it is “clear that this (political) persecution is rooted partly in her sex as female,” and “political opinions.”

Last year, Lund County administration in south Sweden said it was considering giving state-financed driving licenses and housing grants to those Swedish Islamic State fighters who had returned to the country after fighting for the terror group in Iraq and Syria, saying it would help them reintegrate into society.

Around 140 Swedish nationals had been identified as having returned to their home country after fighting for Islamic State, an al Qaeda offshoot also known as ISIS, ISIL or Daesh.

Severe persecution of Christians in Iran is common knowledge.

Iran is ranked eighth on Open Doors’ World Watch list of the world’s top 50 Christian-persecuting countries. The Islamic government in Iran persecutes Christians, particularly converts, on the belief that their religion is Western-influenced and a threat to the country’s Islamic identity.

Iranian authorities regularly raid and shut down house churches, imprisoning their leaders and torturing them. The government follows Sharia law, which calls for the death penalty for apostates……
