UK: Muslim mother takes legal action against school over face veil ban

Britain is going to have to decide whether it is going to defend its own values or surrender to Islamic values. British officials keep pretending that there is no incompatibility between the two and hence no decision to make, but this position will, ultimately, become impossible to sustain.

A Muslim mother has launched legal action against her daughter’s school, after being told she could not wear a face veil on its premises.

Rachida Serroukh, 37, a single mother of three daughters, has begun a discrimination test case against the prestigious Holland Park school, dubbed the “socialist Eton”, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea after she was told she would not be allowed to wear a face veil at the school.

Serroukh, a devout Muslim who has worn a face veil for the past 14 years, was delighted when her 11-year-old daughter was offered a place at the school. Not only was it across the road from where they lived, Serroukh – who was born in Ladbroke Grove – had studied there, achieving good grades….

“Education is very important to me and I want to ensure that all my children get a good education,” she said. “My daughter, who will be starting at Holland Park after the school holidays, did really well in her year 6 Sats and was the top girl in her class.”

But when she attended an evening for parents of new pupils at the school on 13 June, she was shocked to be challenged over her decision to wear a face veil.

After a talk by the head teacher, Serroukh – a qualified childcare assistant who plans to return to work when her daughter is settled in school – was approached by a member of staff who asked to speak to her. She was taken into a room and told it was the school’s policy not to allow face veils on school premises.

“I was already feeling uncomfortable because I had to leave my daughter standing on her own,” said Serroukh. “As the teacher was female, I lifted my veil when we were talking together in the room.” She had already been surprised, she added, that at the welcome event for about 200 parents – including five or six who were identifiably Muslim – the head teacher said in his speech that the school was secular and did not offer prayer rooms “although it showed video footage of the school choir singing in a church”.

At first Serroukh thought that the teacher who raised the veil issue had misunderstood and thought her daughter would be attending school in a face veil. “I explained clearly that my daughter wears a headscarf and would not be coming to school in a face veil. Then I realised she was talking about me not my daughter.”

Serroukh asked several times to see the school policy banning visitors from wearing a face veil, as she was aware that a friend who also wore a similar veil had been attending school events for five years without encountering any problems.

“I had had no problem from security at the school gate when I entered the school and nobody there had mentioned a policy. I always lift my veil and show my photo ID when required to do so for security purposes,” she said. “I didn’t want to challenge the teacher until I had seen the policy.”

Serroukh said the teacher then asked her to leave the school through the back exit, but she refused, explaining she needed to collect her daughter and would be leaving through the same door she had arrived – the school’s front entrance.

“I was very shaken and was in a state of shock about what had happened,” she said. “I had never experienced anything like this before. I have experienced name calling in the street from strangers about my veil but nothing like this had ever happened before. When I got home, I just broke down.”…

The school has not yet responded to repeated requests to comment; Kensington and Chelsea referred enquiries to the school. But in Wilson’s 13 July email, he referred to Serroukh’s account of the meeting with the teacher during the parents’ welcome evening, saying “we believe [it] to be factually inaccurate”.

Dateline North America, 2017: Cultural baggage comes in many forms, especially when a culture isn’t intellectually justified.

For the past five years, there has been at least one reported case of so-called “honor killing” each year in a different U.S. city, which means that there are many more.

The ruling Left, which has been trained to handle all major verbal forms of communication in America and Canada, reports very selectively on the criminal habits of people from the Third World for a variety of reasons all of which point at the root of an old anti-Western ideology whose origin festered in the bowels of prewar Germany and the Victorian Era England: liberal activism. Ever since the poison of the old European Liberalism (in the form of the Frankfurt School and the New School For Social Research) was imported and then domesticated by a naive and intellectually underdeveloped America of the 1940’s and 1950’s, the privileged classes have become untouchable. The old privileged class was that of the factory worker. The new privileged classes are the elites on welfare, the Third World immigrants and various other artificially generated minorities conjured up in the liberal academic circles for the purposes of destroying the vital sense of national unity in the West. For this reason, crimes committed in the name of a Third World culture of Islam (which comes in several flavors) are toned down and under-reported in the mainstream Western Media.

One type of Muslim immigrant crime imported from the Islamic culture of the Middle East is known as “honor killings”. Whether it is a Pushtun daughter dragged by hair from her bedroom out into the provincial village square so she could be slaughtered like sheep by her father in front of the whole community (where the water fountain would run red with a daughter’s blood) because she was reported to him by his new son-in-law as “not a virgin” or whether it is an Iranian wife who grew too old for her bored husband lusting after a new young bride (for whom an excuse for a religiously sanctioned murder of his wife by stoning in public was invented by the husband on false charges of adultery) – ”honor killings” – remain an endemic phenomenon in the lives of the rural, semi-rural and even some urban communities of Muslims worldwide. Let us not forget that in the Hadith (Sunnah) – the oral transmission of sayings of the Prophet of Islam – there is a description of an honor killing that the Holy Prophet of Islam authorized (Al-Bukhari Volume 7: Book 63: Hadith 195).

It is especially relevant for a genuine Westerner to understand how this evil phenomenon known as ”honor killings” is designed to impress with an impersonal nature of the Islamic community (‘ummah’) so that no individual would or could raise himself or herself above the requirements of an Islamic way of life. In 2008, teen sisters in Texas had allegedly been shot dead by their father because they had boyfriends. In Georgia, Sandeela Kanwal was strangled by her father because she wanted to leave an arranged marriage. The pizza-shop-owner father, Chaudry Rashid, told the police, “She [my daughter] wasn’t being true to her religion or to her husband.” She was 25 years old when killed by her Muslim dad. A year later, twenty-year old Noor Almaleki was run over by her father in Arizona for falling in love with some Muslim fellow of her choice.

In New York, Aasiya Hassan was beheaded by her husband for allegedly seeking a divorce. She was 37. And in 2014, Amina Ajmal testified in a New York courtroom against her father for killing her boyfriend’s relatives in Pakistan as a revenge for dating her. The cases involving girls from Pakistan are a chilling reminder in the 2014 New York Times front page photograph of a girl brutally beaten outside a courtroom in Lahore for marrying a man of her choice. On May 30, 2017 a Turkish Court acquitted two Kurdish brothers on the charges of plotting to kill their sister Hatun Surucu (who was 23). Their third brother rots in a German jail for shooting to death his sister on the street.

The template of behavior is identical in all cases: the victim is accused and then condemned by a male family member for adopting an “American” lifestyle—sporting sleeveless or wearing jeans, befriending boys, and choosing to be free from family traditions. All Muslim men view their honor through their women. While they live on Western soil, they are loath to accept American customs and values. They see it as a threat to their culture and creed. The individual must bow and resign before the impersonal totality of the clan unity – that is the way of the Middle East, and the way of Islam, too.

In the article below a sober Canadian French viewpoint on the threat of this form of cultural baggage brought by the Islamic immigration into the West is expressed, and backed by some solid statistics from social research. It would appear that even some Media in socialist Canada have a better grasp on this problem than the Mainstream Media in America do.

91% OF HONOR CRIMES IN THE WORLD ARE COMMITTED BY MUSLIMS (STUDY)

There were 2,823 victims of “violence based on honor” in Britain last year, according to (limited) police statistics for 2011 obtained by a women’s rights organization for Iranian and Kurdish communities obtained through a request for access to information: a dozen murders occur each year.

Apologists want honor killings to be treated as domestic violence to avoid embarrassing questions about the values ​​of others, but in fact they are very different crimes. Domestic violence involves a person (usually a man) who beats or kills another person. Honor crimes and honor-based violence are a family matter.

These crimes are underreported, but every year there are several thousands around the world. Here are some striking statistics and conclusions from an in-depth academic study of 172 honor crimes, based on information published in English-language media around the world.

It is more a cultural than a religious phenomenon, stemming from the tribal bad habits of South Asia and the Middle East, and if the Hindus, the Sikhs, and rarely Christians do it, the brutal truth is that honor crimes are mainly committed by Muslims against Muslim victims (91% in the world, 84% in North America, 96% in Europe) .

Worldwide, two thirds of the victims (93% women) were killed by their families of origin: 49% in North America, 66% in Europe and 72% in Muslim countries. More than half of the victims experienced an atrocious death, having been burned alive, stoned, decapitated, stabbed repeatedly, or after gang rape.

In 58% of the cases, it was because they were “too westernized” , which included: lack of subordination, rejection of Islamic dress, wanting to make a career, attending non-Muslims or having a non-Muslim boyfriend, an arranged marriage or leaving a violent husband. This criterion covers 91% of murders in North America, 71% in Europe and 43% in the Muslim world. In the other cases, the killings were committed for different sexual conduct (for example, having been raped or accused of adultery).

A recent poll by the BBC’s Asian network of 500 Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Muslims revealed an alarming fact: 1 in 10 would endorse the murder of anyone who taints the honor of his family . The statement of Mohammad Shafia that “even if they drag me to the gallows, nothing is more precious to me than my honor,” has deep cultural roots.

We are deluding ourselves if we think there is no violence in the name of honor in our immigrant communities. We should clearly express our disapproval, warn those who are likely to commit these crimes, and support their potential victims .

European countries should follow the example of Canada, where, since 2009, the study guide given to new immigrants to prepare them for the citizenship test, reads: “Canada’s openness and generosity exclude Barbaric cultural practices that tolerate spousal violence, honor killings, female genital mutilation, forced marriages or other acts of gender-based violence. Those guilty of such crimes are severely punished by Canadian laws. ”

The judge did not mince words when he sentenced each of the three members of the Shafia family to a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison: “It is difficult to conceive of a crime more vile and hateful. The apparent reason for these shameful cold-blooded murders is that these four totally innocent victims had outraged your completely twisted concept of honor, which has absolutely no place in a civilized society. 

It’s as simple as that. Forget cultural sensitivities. There is no excuse for domestic terrorism.

Netanyahu: “The EU is undermining its security by undermining Israel”

He is right. If the devout jihadis ever succeeded in destroying Israel, Europe would be much more severely threatened even than it is now. The jihadis, emboldened by their victory, would turn to new prey, and find it in a weakened, confused Europe that has already brought in millions of invaders.

BUDAPEST – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched a blistering attack against the European Union during a closed-session meeting Wednesday morning in the Hungarian capital of Budapest, telling the premiers of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia that the EU’s behavior toward Israel is crazy.

Although the meeting had been behind closed doors, Netanyahu’s remarks were accidentally transmitted to the headphones distributed among reporters, though his people discovered the transmission and shut it down within a few minutes.

“The European Union is the only association of countries in the world that conditions the relations with Israel, that produces technology and every area, on political conditions. The only ones! Nobody does it,” Netanyahu said.

“It’s crazy. It’s actually crazy,” he continued, referring to the EU’s insistence to condition the EU-Association Agreement on certain terms related to the peace process. “It’s not about my interest. I’m talking about Europe’s interest.

“We have a special relationship with China. And they don’t care. They don’t care about the political issues. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he needs water for his people. Where will I get it? Ramallah? No,” Netanyahu said, adding that Israeli cows produce more milk than any other cows in the world – double the European average.

He went on to ask the Central European leaders to “help us and help Europe in expediting the EU Association Agreement.”

He added: “I think that if I can suggest that what comes out of this meeting is your ability perhaps to communicate to your colleagues in other parts of Europe: help Europe – twice. Don’t undermine that one Western country that defends European values and European interests and prevents.

“There is no logic here. The EU is undermining its security by undermining Israel. Europe is undermining its progress by undermining its connection with Israeli innovation by a crazy attempt to create conditions,” he added.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban interrupted at this point and said, laughing, “Mr Netanyahu, the European Union is even more unique. The EU places conditions on the ones already inside the EU, not only the countries on the outside.”

Netanyahu answered, “I think Europe has to decide if it wants to live and thrive or if it wants to shrivel and disappear. I am not very politically correct. I know that’s a shock to some of you. It’s a joke. But the truth is the truth. Both about Europe’s security and Europe’s economic future. Both of these concerns mandate a different policy toward Israel.

“We are part of the European culture,” Netanyahu continued. “Europe ends in Israel. East of Israel, there is no more Europe. We have no greater friends than the Christians who support Israel around the world. Not only the evangelists. If I go to Brazil, I’ll be greeted there with more enthusiasm than at the Likud party center.”…

Justine Damond: Killed by ‘Islamophobia’

Political correctness put her in the way of a “nervous, jumpy” Muslim cop who took her life.

A forty-year-old Australian woman named Justine Damond called 911 in Minneapolis Saturday night to report what she thought might be a rape; when police arrived, she approached the police car, and a Minneapolis police officer named Mohamed Noor shot her dead. Since then, Noor has refused to be interviewed by investigators, but has spoken to friends about what happened and why. The more Noor and those who know him have spoken, the more it becomes clear: Justine Damond was a casualty of “Islamophobia.”

Mohamed Noor is a Somali Muslim. He was the first Somali Muslim on the Minneapolis police force. In 2016, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges expressed her excitement about that fact:

“I want to take a moment to recognize Officer Mohamed Noor, the newest Somali officer in the Minneapolis Police Department. Officer Noor has been assigned to the 5th Precinct, where his arrival has been highly celebrated, particularly by the Somali community in and around Karmel Mall.”

Hodges wasn’t excited because Mohamed Noor had the skills necessary to become a fine police officer. She was only excited because he represented a religious and ethnic that she was anxious to court. And it is increasingly clear, as we learn about Mohamed Noor’s nervousness and jumpiness and lack of respect for women, and from his own account of events that he relayed to friends (that he was “startled” and reacted by opening fire), that Mohamed Noor was not cut out to be a policeman. He did not have the temperament for it, and if he hadn’t killed Justine Damond, he would likely have done something similar at some point.

So why was he on the force at all? Because he was the first Somali Muslim on the Minneapolis police force. He was a symbol of our glorious multicultural mosaic. He was a rebuke to “Islamophobes” and proof that what they say is false. Minneapolis authorities placed a great deal of faith in Mohamed Noor. He was for them the triumph of diversity, the victory of their worldview. But he has let them down.

Mohamed Noor is not a jihad terrorist. This was not a jihad attack. He is just a trigger-happy, panicky, reckless individual who held his job not because he was fit for it, but because of what he symbolized. And in the wake of his failure, Minneapolis multiculturalists aren’t about to reconsider their religion. On the contrary, they are doubling down.

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges has immediately recognized — as authorities do everywhere after jihad attacks — that the real victims are not those who were killed or wounded, but the Muslim community. She should have issued a statement saying that she recognized that Mohamed Noor was not hired because he was competent, but because he was a Somali Muslim, and that she sees now that Leftist social engineering on the police force costs lives. She should have promised that from now on, police officers will be hired based on their fitness for the job, not their religion or ethnicity.

This week a Somali police officer, Officer Mohamed Noor, shot and killed a woman under circumstances we don’t yet comprehend. Justine Damond’s death was tragic and awful for everyone. And I want to be very clear that Officer Noor, a fully trained officer in the Minneapolis Police Department, won’t be treated differently than any other officer.

Justine’s death is a tragedy for our city. We cannot compound that tragedy by turning to racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia. It is unjust and ridiculous to assert that an entire community be held responsible for the actions of one person. That will not be tolerated in Minneapolis. Mayor Hodges is reassuring Muslims and warning against “Islamophobia,” as if a non-Muslim police officer had shot an unarmed Muslim woman. But that’s not what happened. And in issuing this warning, Hodges is only reinforcing the false premises that led to the killing of Justine Damond in the first place: the idea that Muslims are a victimized, persecuted community that needs special consideration, such that an incompetent Muslim police officer had to be hired. This just ensures that in the future, there will be more Justine Damonds.

Islamic State calls on Muslims to target businesses owned by Jews

The Qur’an depicts the Jews as inveterately evil and bent on destroying the well-being of the Muslims. Three businesses in Glasgow have been included in a list of ‘target’ sites in the UK by fanatics linked to ISIS.

In messages encouraging aspiring terrorists to carry out ‘lone wolf’ attacks on the UK’s Jewish community, the three locations on the south side of the city are listed in posts on pro-ISIS social media channel Lone Mujahid.

The information comes from Spanish ISIS monitoring group Asesoria de Inteligencia y Consultoria de Seguridad (the Spanish Consultancy of Intelligence and Security or AICS), where analysts there have labelled the social media channel as “very dangerous” owing to its distribution of explosive manuals and attack procedures, thought to have been used by ISIS sympathisers in Europe.

Their report, seen by Glasgow Live and dated July 14, indicates that information concerning businesses and shops owned by Jewish people in the UK is being shared widely amongst Islamist propaganda sites tied to ISIS.

Contained within the list are the business locations and opening times alongside information about the proprietors themselves.

The AICS report ends by concluding that, given the information “they cannot rule out that some types of hostile action could be levelled against some of the listed establishments.”…

It is feared that as many as 30 Scots are believed to have travelled to Syria and Iraq to join the extremist groups over the past few years….

“Girl, 17, is sexually assaulted by ‘three Afghan asylum seekers’ and Iraqi migrant is accused of sexual harassment as youths riot at German music festival,” MailOnline, July 17, 2017:

A German folk festival descended into violence after Iraqi and Afghan asylum seekers were accused of sexually harassing local women, it has been reported.

Several cases of sexual harassment and aggression were reported at Volksfest in the town of Schorndorf, Baden-Wuerttemberg state, police said.

No arrests have been made but police are treating a 20-year-old Iraqi man as a suspect – and three Afghan asylum seekers in a separate incident in which a 17-year-old girl was groped.

A crowd of more than 1,000 are reported to have hurled bottles at police officers who moved in to detain one of the suspects on charges of dangerous physical assault.

Police said small groups of youths, many of whom are said to be immigrants, then began to vandalise the town which is home to just 40,000 people.

Authorities claimed they were roving through the streets armed with knives and replica handguns, firing flares and teargas….

He said ‘the aggression and escalation of violence’ was unprecedented in the town, near Stuttgart, and that the local police force had to request backup from other cities.

Police said in a statement that many youths ‘with migrant backgrounds’ were seen in the crowd, but Eisele said that it was impossible to estimate a percentage.

In a press conference Monday, Eisele evoked the chaos of Cologne’s infamous 2015 New Year’s Eve celebrations when men of North African and Middle Eastern appearance groped and assaulted hundreds of women, sparking widespread public outrage….

“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed my favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.”

So says Allah in the Qur’an (5:3), in words that have vexed Islamic reformers and would-be reformers throughout the history of the religion. Traditional and mainstream Islamic theology holds that Islam is perfect, bestowed from above by the supreme being, and hence not only is reform unnecessary, it is heresy that makes the reformer worthy of death if he departs from anything Islamic authorities believe to be divinely revealed.

On the other hand, the cognitive dissonance created by having to believe that the one and only God mandates death for apostasy (Bukhari 6922), stoning for adultery (Bukhari 6829), and amputation of the hand for theft (Qur’an 5:38), and sanctions the sexual enslavement of infidel women (Qur’an 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30), the devaluation of a woman’s testimony (Qur’an 2:282) and inheritance rights (Qur’an 4:11), and above all, warfare against and the subjugation of non-Muslims (Qur’an 9:29), has led, particularly in modern times, to attempts by believing Muslims to reconcile Islamic morality with contemporary perspectives and mores.

These attempts are fraught with peril. As Christine Douglass-Williams notes in this book, “Mahmoud Muhammad Taha, a Sudanese Muslim theologian who argued that the Meccan passages,” which are generally more peaceful, “should take precedence over the Medinan,” which call for warfare against non-Muslims, “instead of the reverse, was executed in 1985 by the Sudanese government for heresy and apostasy.” Some of those profiled in this book know these perils firsthand: “Sheik Subhy Mansour recounted: ‘If these Muslim Brotherhood people had the chance, they would have killed me according to their punishment for apostasy plus they claim I’ll go to hell.’ Tawfik Hamid noted: ‘The reformists were killed throughout history, including those who rejected the Sunnah.’”

Death threats aren’t the only dangers either. Europe and North America are full of Muslim spokesmen who present themselves as moderate, Westernized reformers, but are actually just the opposite. Foremost among these is Tariq Ramadan, the grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al-Banna, who has been widely hailed as the “Muslim Martin Luther” but has likewise been accused by French journalist Caroline Fourest, who has published a book-length study of Ramadan’s sly duplicity, Brother Tariq, of “remaining scrupulously faithful to the strategy mapped out by his grandfather, a strategy of advance stage by stage” toward the imposition of Islamic law in the West.

Douglass-Williams notes this duplicity: “In a an example of the distinction to be made between moderates and crypto-moderates, after the brutal riots following the release of the Danish cartoons insulting to Muhammad in 2006, Tariq Ramadan, the Swiss-born theologian and grandson of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Ramadan explained that the reaction of his co-religionists was a ‘a principle of faith…that God and the prophets never be represented.’” One of her interview subjects, Salim Mansur, observes drily that “non-Muslims went to the wrong Muslim for an understanding of the faith.”

The dominant presence of duplicitous pseudo-reformers such as Ramadan considerably muddies the waters. This confusion couldn’t possibly come at a worse time, when the governments of the West are doing nothing less than staking the very futures of their nations not only upon the existence of Muslim moderates and reformers, but upon their eventual victory within the Islamic community. This gamble has been made despite the fact that there is no general agreement, either inside the Muslim community or outside it, of what “Islamic moderation” actually means, and what “Islamic reform” would really look like.

Against this backdrop, The Challenge of Modernizing Islam is extraordinary, refreshing, and much needed in numerous ways. The interviews that Christine Douglass-Williams conducts with some of the leading moderate Muslim spokesmen in the United States and Canada are unique in their probing honesty. While most interviewers from all points of the political spectrum generally are so happy and honored to be in the presence of a Muslim who repudiates jihad terror that they serve up only softball questions and are content with vague generalities in response, in this book Douglass-Williams asks the questions that need to be asked, and yet are asked only infrequently: How do you explain the various Qur’an verses that call for violence, or are misogynistic or problematic in other ways? How do you propose to convince the vast majority of your coreligionists of the correctness of your position? How is reform possible when the mainstream schools of Islamic jurisprudence mandate death for heresy and apostasy?

The answers vary from thought provoking and searchingly honest to cagey and deflective. And that in itself is illuminating. Not every person interviewed in this book is in agreement with every other, and not every attentive and informed reader will come away from these pages convinced that every person here interviewed is being in every instance entirely forthright. Many believe that the resistance to the global jihad in all its forms has no legitimacy, or cannot be successful, if Muslim reformers are not on board with it. I do not share that view, but the need for Islamic reform is undeniable, and the people here interviewed are among its foremost exponents in the West. We owe them a fair hearing as much as they owe us honest answers to the questions here posed.

In the second half of the book, Douglass-Williams offers a probing analysis of what her interview subjects told her, and provides illuminating ways for readers to navigate through the thickets and avoid hazards that have captured and misled numerous analysts of Islam and its prospects for reform. One of the cardinal services she provides here is the drawing of distinctions in numerous areas where crucial differences and delineations have long been obscured, often deliberately. Her discussions of Islam versus Islamism and Islamic moderation versus Islamic reform are a welcome antidote to the sloppy thinking and cant that dominate the public discourse today. Her examination of problematic Islamic texts is all the more welcome for being even rarer. Her discussions of the controversial and manipulative concept of “Islamophobia” and its relationship to the problems of genuine Islamic reform, and to the role of Israel and how it can help distinguish genuine Islamic reformers from pretenders, are the crown and centerpiece of the book, and examples of the kind of searching analysis that is all too often absent from the public square today, and for that all the more needed.

The Challenge of Modernizing Islam is, therefore, an extremely illuminating book, and not always in the ways that its interview subjects may have intended. That is, as is said these days, not a bug, but a feature. It’s crucial today that genuine reformers be distinguished from insincere deceivers, and naïve idealists from those with genuine plans. Here is a solid beginning in that effort. This book should be read while bearing in mind how the governments of the West are assuming that their newly-accepted Muslim refugees will sooner or later accept the values and mores of the secular West and settle down to become loyal and productive citizens, and how the recent experience of European countries, particularly Sweden, Germany, and France, as well as the United Kingdom, offers abundant reason for concern that this may not be the case.

That same tension between high hopes and harsh realities runs through these interviews, and doubtless through the souls of many of the interviewees. For better or worse, however, any chance for Western countries, as well as non-Muslim countries in the Far East and elsewhere, to enjoy a peaceful future now depends, courtesy of a series of decisions our political leaders have made, upon the victory of Islamic reform. The Challenge of Modernizing Islam uniquely equips readers to make an informed and intelligent evaluation of how peaceful the future of non-Muslim countries is likely to be.

We don’t have any indication at this point of why Mohamed Noor killed Justine Damond. There is no evidence now that he is a jihadi or that this was a jihad attack. But with three complaints against him in two years, he seems at very least to be dangerously reckless and/or incompetent. His presence on the force appears to be a manifestation of the general anxiety to avoid charges of “Islamophobia”: Minneapolis officials were so anxious to have a Somali Muslim police officer that they put Mohamed Noor on the force and kept him there when his obvious shortcomings would have had a non-Muslim officer fired or not hired in the first place.

The police officer who shot and killed an unarmed Australian woman in mysterious circumstances after she called 911 to report a disturbance behind her upscale Minneapolis home has been identified.

Mohamed Noor, who joined the department in March 2015, reached over and shot Justine Damond, 40, multiple times from the passenger seat of his squad car while she spoke to his colleague on the drivers side in a back alley.

Both officer’s bodycams were off and the squad car camera not recording when Damond – who was in her pyjamas – was killed at around 11.30pm on Saturday, just a month before she was due to marry.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) – the state agency investigating the shooting – has so far kept tight-lipped on the circumstances that led to the death of the yoga and meditation teacher.

They have admitted that no weapons were recovered from the scene and according to the Star Tribune witnesses to the shooting have described Damond approaching the police cruiser in the alley behind her house.

She was holding her cell phone and talking to an officer on the drivers side before she was shot.

The only concrete statement the BCA has made so far is to confirm that ‘At one point an officer fired their weapon, fatally striking a woman’.

Noor, 31, who is the first Somali-American police officer in his precinct, has in the past been personally praised by Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges.

He also holds a degree in administration and economics.

The Mayor demanded fast answers as the investigation began on Monday.

‘I have the same questions you do, and I seek the same answers you seek,’ said Mayor Hodges.

‘This process is difficult, but I want to be sure we get this right.’

He has already retained the services of a lawyer, who said on Monday that his client is devastated at the death of Damond.

‘We take this seriously with great compassion for all persons who are being touched by this,’ said attorney Tom Plunkett according to The Star Tribune.

Minneapolis Chief of Police Janeé Harteau issued a statement on Monday calling the death tragic.

‘I have many of the same questions and it is why we immediately asked for an external and independent investigation into the officer-involved shooting death,’ said Harteau.

‘I also want to assure you that I understand why so many people have so many questions at this point. I’ve asked for the investigation to be expedited to provide transparency and to answer as many questions as quickly as we can.’

The driver of the squad car that pulled up in the alley behind the home Damond shared with her fiance has been identified as Matthew Harrity, a community service officer since 2016.

On Monday morning the heartbroken stepson of Damond appeared outside his home and had harsh words for Officer Noor.

‘Why? Why did you do it?,’ said Zach Damon.

‘He has no idea the impact that he had on thousands of people. No idea.’

‘I hope that he wakes up every single day and thinks about it, and then I hope that he thinks about how he can be a better person because that’s what she did every single day. And if you don’t do that, then you’re not even living, either, man.’

According to Minneapolis Star Tribune, the website Minnesota PoliceClips has audio of an exchange between dispatch and the officers involved.

One officer says that he sees a ‘female standing behind a building’ and ‘one down’ from the same location before saying they are performing CPR.

Police in Minneapolis are required to wear bodycams at all time, but they are not continually active and are manually switched on when an officer anticipates they will be needed.

It is not know why the squad car camera cannot be used in this case.

The decision to equip all police with bodycams came after the black motorist Philando Castile was shot by an officer in 2016 in controversial circumstances.

Noor, who joined the Minneapolis Police in March 2015, has had three complaints made against him in two years – including a lawsuit.

Two are from 2017 and one from 2016 is closed and according to Lou Raguse of Kare 11 is marked ‘not to be made public’.

The lawsuit stems from a police call on May 25, 2017, when Noor and two other officers took a woman to hospital and she claimed that they carried out false imprisonment, assault and battery.

According to the ongoing lawsuit, the woman claimed that Noor ‘grabbed her right wrist and upper arm’ when moving her….

Facebook: Muslim’s rape threat against ex-Muslim doesn’t violate our ‘community standards’

Maryam Namazie is a Marxist, which means that her opposition to Islam is just a matter of wanting to exchange one form of violent authoritarianism for another. She is a vicious Jew-hater who has spread “Palestinian” jihad propaganda. Namazie is also a liar, as she claims here that Pamela Geller and I have accused her of practicing taqiyya, and she has published an entire report defaming and libeling us in numerous ways.

None of this, of course, means that she should be raped, or that rape threats against her should go unnoticed. Facebook’s refusal to act on this is yet another example of its determination to implement Sharia blasphemy norms and silence all criticism of Islam, as Facebook’s Vice President recently assured Pakistani authorities that it would do. Jihad Watch’s referrals from Facebook dropped 90% in mid-February and never recovered: reporting about the jihad threat apparently does violate Facebook’s “community standards.”

And now Facebook is even tolerating jihadist threats against ex-Muslims.

What makes this outrageous is that Facebook controls so much of the public discourse today. As long as its influence remains so large, it has to be opened up to legal challenge.

Maryam Namazie, a political activist who frequently criticizes Islamism, received a graphic rape threat from a violent Muslim. Unfortunately, according to Facebook, the message didn’t violate any of their “specific community standards.”

I have received a lot of hate mail over the years, but this is something extraordinary. His threat is clear and specific… and disturbing. So, be warned.

This is violent and graphic, so keep that in mind.

Namazie shared some screenshots from the conversation on Twitter to protest Facebook’s censorship policies. She pointed out that pages get shut down regularly because they criticize Islam, yet the company seems not to care about graphic threats. This is something I have experienced, as well, so I’m happy people are finally paying attention to this double standard….
