Washington Post publishes article by Muslim who ‘served 13 years in federal prison for terrorism-related charges’

At least they admit it. The bio tag for this Washington Post article (thanks to Darcy) reads: “Ismail Royer is an American convert to Islam and a research and program associate at the Religious Freedom Institute, a D.C. nonprofit organization. He served 13 years in federal prison for terrorism-related charges. Since his release, he has worked in the nonprofit sector developing strategies to promote religious liberty and undermine extremist ideology.”

Which “extremist ideology”? Why not “…to promote religious liberty and undermine the jihad ideology”? Probably because what is meant by “extremist ideology” is “right-wing extremism,” a label often attached to resistance to jihad terror.

Interestingly, the Washington Post bio for Royer doesn’t note that before his incarceration, he worked for Hamas-linked CAIR.

Meanwhile, the title of this piece is “Muslims like me don’t have theological beef with evangelicals. It’s the prejudice against us that’s the problem.” Note that Royer is taking that ever-familiar stance we see again and again, on a drearily regular basis, from Muslim spokesmen: victimhood. Poor, poor Muslims are victimized by everyone else in 1000 ways — as the jihad body count rises ever higher. One would think that any man would be embarrassed to make his living as a professional whiner, but Islamic spokesmen seem to have a never-ending supply of chutzpah and no capacity for embarrassment at all.

And “Muslims like me”? What kind of Muslim is like Ismail Royer? Let’s review what the Post blandly reports as “13 years in federal prison for terrorism-related charges.” From the Investigative Project on Terrorism:

According to a biography posted on IslamOnline.net, Royer began working as a CAIR communication specialist in 1997. According to media reports, he continued to work for CAIR at least through the beginning of October 2001.

When police stopped Royer for a traffic violation in September 2001, they found in his automobile an AK-47-style rifle and 219 rounds of ammunition. He was indicted in June 2003, with 10 others, on a variety of charges stemming from participation in the ongoing jihad in Kashmir. Specifically, the indictment charged that Royer engaged in propaganda work for Lashkar-e-Taiba and “fired at Indian positions in Kashmir.”

Lashkar-e-Taiba was designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization on December 26, 2001. Thus, while news reports indicated he still worked for CAIR, according to a federal indictment, Royer purchased an AK-47 assault rifle and 219 rounds of ammunition, distributed newsletters for a group later designated as a foreign terrorist organization, and fired at Indian targets in Kashmir.

Again, Awad has minimized CAIR’s ties to Royer, noting Royer was also “a former employee of Starbucks Coffee.”

In January 2007, in response to Senator Boxer’s withdrawal of the award to Elkarra, Awad claimed that “CAIR had no knowledge of Royer’s travels and activities before he joined CAIR.”

Additional charges listed in a superseding indictment against Royer and his 10 co-conspirators included conspiracy to levy war against the United States and conspiracy to provide material support to Al Qaeda.

On January 16, 2004, Royer pleaded guilty to weapons and explosives charges and agreed to cooperate fully with the government.

He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Royer got out early, of course, and now proclaims that he has rejected his previous “extremism.” And so the Washington Post publishes him as if he were a legitimate spokesmen for Muslims in the United States. This is all part of the normalization of Islamic supremacism, of a piece with politicians appearing at Hamas-linked CAIR events (as we have seen recently in Ohio and Illinois).

The Washington Post is trying to condition the public into thinking that someone who used to work for Hamas-linked CAIR and served time in prison for jihad plotting is a perfectly reasonable fellow, while the real “extremists” are the foes of jihad terror. Can you imagine the Washington Post publishing an article by me or anyone else who is defamed by the hard-Left smear machine the Southern Poverty Law Center as an “anti-Muslim extremist”? They wouldn’t be caught dead. But a Muslim who worked for Hamas-linked CAIR and did propaganda work for a jihad terror work? Now, that’s someone who is perfectly within the bounds of reasonable discourse.

Trump designates Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist group

This is absolutely justified. Said Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin: “The IRGC has played a central role to Iran becoming the world’s foremost state sponsor of terror. We urge the private sector to recognize that the IRGC permeates much of the Iranian economy, and those who transact with IRGC-controlled companies do so at great risk.”

The announcement of this move said the group provides “support to a number of terrorist groups, including Hizballah and Hamas, as well as to the Taliban.”

Indeed. Find out just how bad the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps really is, and what it is doing in Iran and around the world, in my book The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Iran.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps

“Trump designates Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group, calls for more sanctions,” by Joel Gehrke, Washington Examiner, October 13, 2017:

…”I am authorizing the Treasury Department to further sanction the entire Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for its support for terrorism and to apply sanctions to its officials, agents, and affiliates,” Trump said in a White House speech.

“I urge our allies to join us in taking strong actions to curb Iran’s continued dangerous and destabilizing behavior,” Trump added.

“The IRGC has played a central role to Iran becoming the world’s foremost state sponsor of terror,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Friday. “We urge the private sector to recognize that the IRGC permeates much of the Iranian economy, and those who transact with IRGC-controlled companies do so at great risk.”

As Trump spoke from the White House, the Treasury Department announced it was designating the IRGC as a terrorist entity under a White House Executive Order. That announcement said the group provides “support to a number of terrorist groups, including Hizballah and Hamas, as well as to the Taliban.”

Muslim who was on terror watch list becomes French police officer

No, this is not The Onion. Nor is this a case of “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” This is PC idiocy at its apex. And France is going to reap the consequences, when he goes jihad while on the police, or enables some other Muslims to do so.

“Frenchman who was on terror watchlist becomes police officer,” by Anna Schaverien, The Local, September 25, 2017:

A Frenchman who had been on France’s terror watchlist after showing signs of having been radicalized to extremist Islam has been accepted into France’s police force.

The man was placed on the terror watch list in 2012 as a known radical Islamist and France’s intelligence service DGSI kept him under surveillance for a number of years after being alerted to his behaviour, according to French news site RTL.

Unaware he was being watched, the man, who has not been named, applied to join the armed forces, but wasn’t successful.

He then decided to try to join the French police force.

Despite apparently being under watch he was recruited as an Adjoint de Securité, a role ranked below a qualified police officer which can involve patrolling the streets and administrative duties.

This is despite the DGSI receiving significant intelligence about his behaviour and sending his details on to the interior minister, who supervises the police, RTL reported.

He was kept under surveillance in this role, and once the security forces were sure he wasn’t involved in any terrorist plots, he was allowed to complete his training and became a fully qualified police officer on 22 September after undergoing the required training.

He has since been removed from the terror watchlist….

Muslim Teenagers Partook in 25% of Terrorist Plots in Europe

Young or old, black or white, rich or poor, educated or not, Western or Eastern, there is but one common thread, the clear understanding of Islam, which drives these savages to bloody holy war.

REPORT: TEENAGERS PARTOOK IN A QUARTER OF ALL TERRORIST PLOTS ACROSS EUROPE

HERITAGE FOUNDATION CITES ISIS’S SOCIAL MEDIA SAVVY IN RECRUITING YOUNG PEOPLE

August 2, 2017, By Natalie Johnson, Free Beacon:

Teenagers have participated in nearly a quarter of all Islamist terror plots across Europe since 2014, with an alarming uptick in adolescent involvement recorded over the past year, according to a new Heritage Foundation report published Tuesday.

In the first five months of 2017, teenagers participated in eight of 30 documented jihadist plots, or 27 percent—a substantial increase from 2014 and 2015 when young people were involved in just five plots over a two-year span.

The trend so far lags behind 2016, when 22 of the 59 recorded plots, or 37 percent, involved teenagers.

Robin Simcox, a terrorism and national security analyst at the Heritage Foundation who authored the study, said the figures illustrate the Islamic State’s social media savvy in recruiting young people. He said popular encrypted messaging apps, such as Telegram, have enabled ISIS members to contact teenagers in a way terrorist groups in the past could not.

“This is technology that’s very familiar to young people,” Simcox told the Washington Free Beacon. “These online apps have made something that appeared such a daunting prospect in the past—i.e. teenagers having to leave their home and travel to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, or Iraq—to where all the sudden they don’t have to make the journey. They can easily contact terrorist operatives just at the click of a button.”

Former ISIS recruiter Rasheed Kassim, who was killed in an airstrike in February, was a key figure in the terrorist group’s propaganda efforts through his use of social media to lure young French men to carryout attacks. Last year, nine of the 12 terrorist plots in France that involved teens were connected to Kassim, according to the report.

Simcox said Kassim successfully took advantage of the social issues weighing on teens’ minds to entice them into committing acts of terror on behalf of ISIS.

In September, after an all-female ISIS cell attempted to carryout an attack near Notre Dame Cathedral, Kassim took to Telegram to shame young men, writing, “Where are the brothers? You have to understand, if women are taking action it’s clearly because too few men are acting.”

After that message, two 15-year-old boys connected to Kassim were arrested on suspicion of two separate terror plots, followed by the arrest of a 16-year-old boy who was also linked to the ISIS recruit on similar charges.

Simcox said while Kassim was an integral player in recruiting young people to plot attacks, his death has not stopped teens from becoming involved in terrorist activity.

“ISIS calls for attacks are resonating with radicalized teenagers and even preteens,” he said. “I don’t see any great reason to think that would change.”

The Heritage report tracked terrorist plots between January 2014 through May 2017, detecting 142 Islamist plots—or one every eight days—over the 29-month period. ISIS has participated in a majority of those plots, notably killing 130 people in a coordinated attack on Paris in November 2015.

Muslim screaming ‘Allahu akbar’ triggers explosion at Brussels Central Station

Do European authorities think there is going to be an end to this? Do they think that at some point the Muslims in Europe will be pacified and become loyal, productive citizens? Do they think that if they shower enough welfare and appeasement upon them, that this era of peace will soon dawn? They’re in for a rude awakening.

“Terror returns to Brussels: Suspected suicide bomber threatening train passengers ‘shouts Allahu Akbar and triggers an explosion’ at city’s central station as he is shot dead by soldiers,” by Ekin Karasin and Peter Allen, MailOnline, June 20, 2017:

A suicide bomber who allegedly shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ and triggered an explosive vest at Brussels Central Station has been gunned down and killed by soldiers.

Shots rang out soon after 9pm as police and soldiers moved in ‘to neutralise a suspect who was threatening civilians,’ said an investigating source.

Initial reports suggested the suspect was wearing a rucksack packed with explosives, while witnesses later claimed he tried to blow up a trolley or a suitcase.

Tourists were among those who fled in panic, and within a few minutes nearby shops and restaurants were shutting down.

The Grand Place, the city’s most popular tourist spot, was completely evacuated because of fears that the man might not be acting alone.

‘Efforts were made to save him, but he is dead,’ said one of the sources, who added that ‘the situation is now under control.’

‘The attacker was shot several times, and it appears that he triggered a device,’ another source added. There are no other casualties.

The suspect shouted out “Allahu Akbar” (God is Greatest) before causing the explosion on Tuesday, a witness said.

‘I went down to the mezzanine level, someone was shouting. Then he cried ‘Allahu Akbar’, and he blew up a trolley,’ Nicolas Van Herrewegen, a railway sorting agent, said.

Local media also corroborated reports later on that suspect blew up a trolley or suitcase in an increasingly confusing situation.

A witness told local media that the bomber blew up a trolley. They said passengers were several metres away but were unhurt.

Soldiers ran toward the spot, saw wires protruding from the man’s clothes, and shot him. That account could not be independently confirmed.

Images shot at the scene showed an explosion, and what looked like an individual on fire. Belgian Rail says traffic has been halted at the station with local media reporting that there was a small blast there….

Ramadan in Alabama: Muslim charged with supporting act of terrorism

“Huntsville man charged with supporting act of terrorism, law enforcement say threat is over,” by by Drew Galloway, Kristen Conner and David Kumbroch, WHNT, June 15, 2017 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Huntsville Police Department has charged a man with Soliciting or Providing Support for an Act of Terrorism.

22-year-old Aziz Sayyed, of Huntsville, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon. The arrest is the result of a tip from a citizen.  Sayyed was stopped and taken into custody in the area of Church Street and Clinton Avenue.  Investigators say Sayyed is a U.S. citizen, born in North Carolina.

Shortly after a news conference announcing the arrest, police confirmed that an active investigation scene at Twickenham Village, an apartment complex just north of University Drive in the area of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, was linked to the charges against Sayyed.

The FBI also confirmed they were on scene at the apartment complex.

Police say they were executing a search warrant at an apartment where Sayyed was allegedly staying.

The Huntsville Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are jointly investigating the case with support from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. No specifics of the threat have been released, but both agencies say the arrest eliminates any threat to the Huntsville/Madison County area, including Redstone Arsenal.

“We successfully mitigated a threat today with this arrest,” said Roger Stanton, FBI Birmingham Special Agent in Charge….

VIDEO: Ramadan, the month of jihad

Yesterday, I appeared on CBN to discuss why jihad attacks become more frequent during Ramadan.

I start at the eight-minute mark.

“Ramadan Martyrs Get Extra Reward: Experts Warn to Brace for ‘Holy Month of Jihad,’” by George Thomas, CBN News, June 1, 2017:

Watch CBN News’ George Thomas’  interview with Middle East expert Robert Spencer & former Muslim Isik Abla on why Islamic terrorists are commanded to kill during Ramadan

ISIS is calling on its followers to massacre civilians during Islam’s holy month of Ramadan, saying violence is a ‘beloved” act to Allah.

And it appears the bloodletting is underway.

Muslims in Afghanistan are mourning the loss of family members, friends and colleagues, the day after a massive truck bomb in the capital city killed at least 90 people and injured more than 450 people….

“The depth of, and the magnitude of the destruction, was so high that even properties within a 3 mile radius of the incident were affected, said Abdullah Habibzai, Kabul’s acting mayor.

A suicide bomber drove his truck into Kabul’s heavily guarded diplomatic quarter during the morning rush hour, leaving behind chaos and destruction….

“The total damage based on our recent data is at least 1.5 million U.S. dollars but the estimation is going on and we expect up to 6 million U.S. dollars damage to the properties,” Habibzai told reporters at a news conference.

The attack in Afghanistan came just days after ISIS massacred 29 Christians near Cairo, Egypt and carried out two massive car bombings in Baghdad, Iraq, killing at least 31 people….

The bloodshed comes as Muslims around the world started their annual 30-day Ramadan fast on May 26.

“Ramadan is a holy and glorious month so we welcome this Ramadan with joy,” said Muhammad Fikri, a Muslim religious teacher. “In this month we come to the mosque to worship, give charity and also try to clean our hearts.”

In Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim nation, hundreds of thousands are flocking to mosques to also pray for peace.

“In welcoming this Ramadan, let us show that Islam is cool, peaceful and safe and let us compete in making good things in our life,” said Sun Keng Hok, an Indonesian Chinese Muslim….

Muslim terrorist who murdered British tourist will be paid $1,025 per month

This is what is wrong with the West. This is what is wrong with our foreign policies and foreign aid. No country, no group, no organization should receive one thin dime of our money if they support, aid or abet terrorism. Further, no country, no group, no organization should receive Western aid if they impose and support the sharia, creed apartheid, gender apartheid, bigotry, Jew-hatred or misogyny.

TERRORIST ACCUSED OF KILLING A BRITISH STUDENT WILL BE PAID £800 A MONTH BY THE PALESTINIAN GOVERNMENT WHICH RECEIVES £25M-A-YEAR UK FOREIGN AID

  • Palestinian Jamil Tamimi murdered British theology student Hannah Bladon
  • He told police that he attacked Hannah in the hope a soldier would kill him
  • His family qualify for a ‘salary’ from the Palestinian Authority of £800 a month
  • Palestine receives more than £25 million a year from the UK in foreign aid

Someone tell the Daily Mail “Palestine” is not a country. Israel is Palestine.

By Nick Craven for The Mail on Sunday, 23 April 2017:

A terrorist accused of murdering a British student in Jerusalem will be paid a salary of more than £800 a month by the Palestinian government – which receives more than £25 million a year from the UK in foreign aid.

Jamil Tamimi, who has a history of mental health issues, killed theology student Hannah Bladon in a frenzied knife attack on Good Friday after the 21-year-old gave up her seat on a tram to a woman with a baby.

The 57-year-old Palestinian told police that he attacked Hannah, a Birmingham University exchange student attached to Jerusalem’s Hebrew University, in the hope that a soldier in the carriage would kill him.

Instead Tamimi was arrested and is almost certain to be lauded as a resistance ‘hero’ by the Palestinian Authority (PA), like hundreds of others before him.

An Israeli court has already ruled, following a psychiatric evaluation, that he is fit to stand trial and should be treated as a terrorist by the justice system.

It means Tamimi or his family qualify for a ‘salary’ from the PA, according to Itamar Marcus, spokesman for the Israeli monitoring group Palestinian Media Watch.

New York Times publishes op-ed by convicted murderer, calls him a ‘Palestinian leader’

But would the New York Times ever publish an op-ed by a foe of jihad terror who spoke honestly about the terrorists’ motivating ideology? Don’t be silly. That would be “Islamophobic.”

Marwan-Barghouti (1)

“New York Times Publishes Op-Ed by Convicted Terrorist, Describes Him as a ‘Palestinian Leader,’” by Alex Griswold, Washington Free Beacon, April 17, 2017:

The New York Times published an op-ed Monday written by a convicted terrorist, without informing readers that he is serving five life sentences in prison for helping murder five people and launch a failed suicide bombing.

The op-ed, titled “Why We Are on Hunger Strike in Israel’s Prisons,” was penned by Marwan Barghouti and appeared both online and in the print edition of the International New York Times. The Times author bio described Barghouti as “a Palestinian leader and parliamentarian.

“Having spent the last 15 years in an Israeli prison, I have been both a witness to and a victim of Israel’s illegal system of mass arbitrary arrests and ill-treatment of Palestinian prisoners,” Barghouti writes. “After exhausting all other options, I decided there was no choice but to resist these abuses by going on a hunger strike.”

Throughout the op-ed, Barghouti only vaguely alludes to the reason he is in prison.

“Israel has tried to brand us all as terrorists to legitimize its violations, including mass arbitrary arrests, torture, punitive measures, and severe restrictions,” he writes. “As part of Israel’s effort to undermine the Palestinian struggle for freedom, an Israeli court sentenced me to five life sentences and 40 years in prison in a political show trial that was denounced by international observers.”

In reality, Barghouti was sentenced in 2004 to five consecutive life sentences for masterminding a series of terrorist attacks on Israeli police and civilians, including a Greek Orthodox priest. Barghouti was also found responsible for a failed suicide bombing that ended up killing the terrorists instead.

Despite his claim of a “show trial,” Israeli judges actually acquitted Barghouti of most of the charges against him. Israeli authorities believed he was directly responsible for as many as 37 attacks, but judges ruled they lacked sufficient proof of his involvement in many of those cases.

Israeli media and American Jewish figures castigated the Times for omitting the full details of Barghouti’s activities.

“Shame on NYT for printing libelous op-ed by convicted killer Barghouti, the Palestinian Dylann Roof,” wrote former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren. “Americans would be horrified. So are we.”….
