Dutch Islamic scholar: “No Western country has successfully integrated Muslims”

“Dutch author and sociologist Ruud Koopmans said this week that Muslims are more difficult to integrate into Western society than other migrant groups because of a literal interpretation of the Quran prevalent among Muslims.”

Koopmans called this a “threat to world peace.” Most Muslims agree that “Muslims should return to the roots of Islam,” while a whopping “75 percent think there is only one interpretation of the Qur’an possible to which every Muslim should stick.” That interpretation is normative Islam, and the one that resulted in over 11 million Muslims being murdered for not being Muslim enough since 1948, along with innumerable non-Muslims. It’s also the same interpretation that for a millennium and more has divided the world into two camps: the House of War (Infidel countries) and the House of Islam (Islamic countries), with the mandate that the latter must conquer the former.

Jihad Watch and other organizations that support the principles of free society in the West have been warning about these truths for a long time, while Leftists and Islamic supremacists work to obscure them and continue to erode the foundations of societies that are built on human rights and freedom. It is key to understanding the global jihad to accept the fact that the jihad imperative is rooted in Islamic doctrine. Understanding this will enable the West to stand firmly for freedom and establish sensible policies, including an end to the open-door immigration that advances the hijrah (jihad by immigration).

“Islamic Scholar: No Western Country Has Successfully Integrated Muslims,” by Thomas D. Williams, Breitbart, March 8, 2019:

Dutch author and sociologist Ruud Koopmans said this week that Muslims are more difficult to integrate into Western society than other migrant groups because of a literal interpretation of the Quran prevalent among Muslims.

Ruud Koopmans, professor at the Berlin Social Science Center and author of several books including Contested Citizenship: Immigration and Cultural Diversity in Europetold the Danish newspaper Berlingske that whereas most groups of migrants integrate relatively quickly, especially from one generation to the next, Islam stands out as an exception.

“Although it’s not completely absent in Muslims, the change is much slower,” he said, noting that a literal interpretation of the Quran prevents them from integrating into Western countries.

In an earlier published study titled “Fundamentalism and out-group hostility,” Koopmans compared Muslim radicalism with Christian radicalism to better understand why Islam stands out for its isolationism.

“Almost 60 percent agree that Muslims should return to the roots of Islam,” he wrote, while “75 percent think there is only one interpretation of the Qur’an possible to which every Muslim should stick.”

Koopmans, who has been studying Islam for over twenty years, also found that “65 percent say that religious rules are more important to them than the laws of the country in which they live.”

Regarding Christian citizens on the other hand, Koopmans found that fewer than 4 percent “can be characterized as consistent fundamentalists.”

“I conclude that the Islamic world is lagging behind rest of the world when it comes to democracy, human rights, and political and economic development,” Koopmans told Berlingske in his interview this week.

“The main problem is how many Muslims and, globally, how many Muslim countries interpret Islam. Namely, in a way that basically claims that the Qur’an and the Sunna must be taken literally, and that the way the Prophet lived in the 7th century must be the yardstick for how Muslims should live in the 21st century,” he said.

“Such a brand of Islam is, firstly, a threat to world peace. Secondly, it prevents integration,” Koopmans concluded.

Although it is politically taboo to draw distinctions between ethnic groups when it comes to immigration, some scholars, including Pope Benedict XVI, have urged the West not to assume that all cultures share its basic suppositions about the human person and society.

Prior to his election as pope, Joseph Ratzinger wrote that “the interplay of society, politics, and religion has a completely different structure in Islam” than it does in the West.

Unfortunately, he added, much of today’s discussion in the West regarding Islam “presupposes that all religions have basically the same structure, that they all fit into a democratic system with its regulations and the possibilities provided by these regulations.”

“The Koran is a total religious law….

Questioning Islam and Muhammad has been effectively criminalized in Europe

Here is background about Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff’s case, a case with extraordinarily important implications for the future of the freedom of speech and of the free world in general. Please visit her website here.

In 2009, Mrs. Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff (ES) spoke at a series of seminars organized by the Austrian Freedom Party, which were advertised to and open to members of the public. At two such seminars, each attended by about 30 people, she made several statements about Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. The seminars were also attended by an undercover journalist, whose publisher made a criminal complaint against Mrs. ES for the statements she had made.

The public prosecutor lodged an indictment against Mrs. ES and accused her of violation of Article 283 of the Austrian Criminal Code, which criminalizes the incitement of hatred.

The Court of 1st instance (Regional Court of Vienna) dropped this specific allegation, but convicted her on 15 February 2011 for disparaging religious doctrines under Article 188 of the Austrian Criminal Code.

Her appeals against this judgment was dismissed in Austria by the Court of 2nd instance (Superior Court of Vienna) on 20 December 2011 and the Court of 3rd instance (Supreme Court) on 11 December 2013.

After that, Mrs. ES lodged an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in which, in particular, an infringement of Art. 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights (freedom of expression) was alleged.

By judgment of 25 October 2018, no. 38450/12, the Fifth Section of the ECtHR held that the appeal was admissible, but that there was no violation of Article 10 ECHR.

On 22 January 2019, Mrs. ES lodged a request for referral of the case to the Grand Chamber of the ECtHR (GC). The GC has not yet decided whether or not to accept the request for further consideration. We therefore do not yet know whether the case will be dealt with further and whether there will be an oral hearing.

In our view, the judgment of the ECtHR is in conflict with other decisions of the same Court which have given greater weight to the fundamental right to freedom of expression.

The case is so important because it concerns the core of the fundamental right to freedom of expression: criticism of religions is practically as important as criticism of politicians. If one suppresses the possibility of criticizing religions, this can lead to a chilling effect, which makes further discussion about religions more difficult.

Highly anticipated EU ‘deal’ on migration is a nothing-burger!

Because I’ve been telling you in advance about the pow-wow in Brussels yesterday about the migrant invasion of Europe and what the EU will do about it, I’m compelled to give you an update of the disappointing results.

They talked and talked, indeed they talked all night, and came up with what the NY Times even says is a ‘deal’ with “sketchy” details.

Migrants on the “Aquarius” turned away by Italy precipitating the EU’s latest migration crisis TALKS.

The UK Express says it all in its headline:EU Summit FUDGE: Merkel STILL not safe as vague immigration deal DOESN’T solve issues

EU leaders struggled to overcome deep divisions on migration at a tense EU summit that dragged into the early hours of this morning before producing a fudged agreement, which vaguely pledged to strengthen external borders and explore new migrant centres.

The meeting in Brussels, dominated by a nine-hour working dinner, underscored how Europe’s 2015 migrant crisis continues to haunt the crisis-hit bloc.
Macron-with-Angela-Merkel-935574

It took place in an atmosphere of political crisis for German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is under intense political pressure at home, and a new eurosceptic Italian government threatening to torpedo any deal that did not meet its demands.

A bleary-eyed Mrs Merkel, speaking to reporters at 4am, tried to put a positive spin on the result, saying it was a good signal that leaders had been able to agree a common text on the controversial migration issue.

(See the text here, below are a few snips.)

The leaders agreed to set up joint asylum processing sites and restrict migrant movement within the bloc, but they made clear that virtually all of their pledges would be carried out on a “voluntary basis” by member states.

This means countries can opt in or out of the agreement and it was unclear which countries would volunteer to host the centres.

So, a country could set up a detention center if it wants to in order to gather together all of the migrants (from across Europe!) and sort them out.  Sure, that is going to happen!

And, oh boy, send more money to Turkey and Africa to prevent migration. WTH! (Erdogan must be laughing his head off!).

The Express continues….

In a final statement full of convoluted language, leaders also agreed to tighten their external border and increase financing for Turkey, Morocco and other North African states to prevent migration to Europe.

[….]

Diplomats described a tense and tortured meeting with small groups of leaders huddled together in a desperate bid to break the deadlock and avert the humiliation of heading home without having produced an agreement.

Geez, I think they should be humiliated by the agreement they will bring home!

The New York Times tells us (regarding the issue of sorting out the migrants in a mythical detention center between legitimate asylum seekers and economic migrants) that the EU doesn’t even have any criteria for determining legitimate asylum seekers/refugees.
Orban
The NY Times called Hungarian PM Orban “characteristically harsh.”

Inside Europe, the proposed centers would house migrants until they are screened, with the idea of deciding their fate more efficiently and sending back those who do not qualify as refugees. But no country has so far volunteered to host such a center. (LOL! So will they detain the children with their parents?)

[….]

One potential hurdle for the deal is the fact that the European Union has no uniform rules or procedures for asylum, making it unclear what rules would be applied in a screening center, whether inside or outside Europe.

But setting up any such center would be a significant change from the current system, under which migrants must be screened in the European country where they first arrive and are registered.

A voice of common sense….

In Brussels, the Hungarian prime minister, Victor Orban, was characteristically harsh.

“I think the people really request two things: First is, no more migrants in,” he said. The second, he said, would be the deportation of those who are already in Europe but do not qualify as refugees.

So true! And, Donald Trump should follow Orban’s prescription for our borders as well! NOW!

Some snips from the “convoluted language”:

Ships operating in the Mediterranean must respect laws and Libyan Coast Guard, or what? No penalties?

EU deal 1

Send money to Africa so that in 45 years it will be a good place for people to live. But, in 45 years Europe will be Africa!

EU deal 2

Gibberish! Just gibberish about throwing money at the problem!

EU deal 3

Go here for more of this nonsense!

Swedish Defense College: Fear of being called ‘racist’ crippling police efforts to counter Islamic terrorism

“You risk being identified as racist in a way that you did not see in other European countries. There, this question was as uncontroversial as the importance of combating Nazism and right-wing extremism.”

What European countries is he talking about? Maybe Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, but that’s about it. Otherwise the charge of “racism,” and fear of that charge, is crippling efforts to counter jihad terrorism all over Europe, and in North America as well.

“The race card allows authorities to curb work against jihadism,” translated from “Rasistkortet får myndigheter att bromsa arbete mot jihadism,” by Dick Erixon, Samtiden, February 11, 2018:

For fear of being called racist, authorities in Sweden have not been able to track violent jihadists, and therefore some slipped away to other countries, according to researchers at the Center for Asymmetric Threats and Terrorism Studies at the Defense College.

The race card is roughly abused in Sweden, mostly in terms of stopping public analyses and efforts to counter severe Islamist crimes, such as attacks on women and terrorism.

Last month, a book about honor-related violence came out that again accuses Swedes of racism and “abusive stereotypes of immigrants,” instead of taking the risks of religious fundamentalism seriously.

These leftist forces have gained power over the public by constantly accusing anyone who raises these problems of being racist. This has meant that authorities systematically downplay and neglect the problems. It becomes easier and more comfortable to denounce and condemn ordinary Swedes for extremism and prejudice.

This cowardice has distorted the reality of Sweden in such a way that the country is less prepared than other countries to face religious extremism. Sweden has become a breeding ground for jihadists because Swedish authorities, ranging from social services to police, are blind to extremism and let it thrive — for fear of being called racist.

This is noticeable in several ways. The number of people traveling from Sweden to the war in Syria to join the Islamic State and other terrorist networks has been around 300, which is the second most in the EU in relation to our population.

A study from the Swedish Defense College last autumn, based on data from Säpo, showed that the number of violent Islamist extremists in Sweden has increased thirtyfold in seven years. This summer, it was estimated that the number of jihadists was about 2,300. In 2000, the number was estimated at 200 people.

In an interview for SVT today, Peder Hyllengren, researcher at the Swedish Defense College, says that the security work against violent jihadism has been slowing down in Sweden for a long time, because there is an activism that made it difficult for politicians and others to engage in this issue.

“You risk being identified as racist in a way that you did not see in other European countries. There, this question was as uncontroversial as the importance of combating Nazism and right-wing extremism,” he says.

But in Sweden, the accusation of racism can lead to unmitigated tragedy. The result has been that the state and the authorities are not able to carry out the work of maintaining the security of the Swedish people. It’s serious….

No place is truly safe from jihad attacks! Why is that?

“No place in Western Europe is truly safe from the warriors of Islam.”

And why is that? Because of the Muslim migrant policies that Western European leaders have pursued with indefatigable single-mindedness, while smearing all opponents of these suicidal policies as “racists” and “Islamophobes.” Theresa May, David Cameron, Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron and François Hollande, et al — these are the destroyers of Europe.

“No Place Truly Safe,” by Bruce Bawer, City Journal, August 17, 2017:

We hadn’t traveled together outside the country—the country, in our case, being Norway—all summer, so a few weeks ago we decided to plan a brief, cheap trip to somewhere else in Europe. We put together a list of our favorite cities, plus a few we haven’t yet gotten to. We checked out airfares and hotel prices. And we consulted a color-coded map of Europe that I’d run across online. The darker the color of the country, the greater the likelihood, according to experts, that it will be a terrorist target in the near future. We love Berlin and Munich, but Angela Merkel’s madness has made those cities unappealing destinations, so we crossed them off immediately. We also love Paris, but the recent terrorist attacks there, not to mention the ever-worsening immigrant crime situation and the pictures we’d seen of refugees camped out on the streets, led us to cross it off our list.

Mind you, it’s not just a matter of not wanting to be blown up. It’s about the fact that places like Paris and Berlin just don’t feel the same. It’s also about not wanting to make even a piddling contribution to the economy of a country that has pursued irresponsible immigration and integration policies. London? No. I don’t want to spend my vacation money in a country that lets in jihad-preaching imams while banning Robert Spencer….

So we decided on Barcelona. We’d been to Spain multiple times, but never its second most-populous city. It seemed a sensible choice: it didn’t come up often in discussions of possible terrorist targets….

A quick search just now led me to an article from last May noting that terrorism fears had diminished American tourism to Paris, London, and Berlin. Barcelona, however, perceived as safer, had “become one of Europe’s tourism hotspots,” with La Rambla “packed from morning well into the evening” during the summer months.

Forget the color-coded maps. It’s all a crapshoot, all guesswork. No place in Western Europe is truly safe from the warriors of Islam. Their goal is nothing less than the conquest of the continent. They’re at war with us, and the easiest victims for them to pick off are those of us who—on holiday in some unfamiliar city, map and camera in hand—are, for the moment anyway, the least aware that we, too, whether we like it or not, are at war with them.

Watch this trailer for a documentary of the leader of the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) and his fight against Islamic terror in the West.

He is a courageous defender the inalienable right of free speech, something we hold precious here in the US, a right guaranteed under the First Amendment of the US Constitution and innumerable rulings of our Supreme court.

Wilders has been brought to trial in The Netherlands on alleged violations of the country hate speech laws in 2011 at the Amsterdam district court, where he was vindicated, and 2016 at a special Hague District court where he was convicted of one charge without penalty.

Wilders is also a friend and defender of the Jewish nation of Israel having spent time therein his youth. He has fought enemies in the veritable lion’s den and been ejected by the totalitarian Islamic Republic of Iran after criticizing its human rights violations in person in Tehran.

I am pleased to have supported and written about his views and exploits. This included arranging a controversial talk in 2009 at one of my alma maters, Columbia University. Hungary will welcome European refugees fleeing ‘multicultural West’

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has a point: Merkel and her fellow globalist internationalists are bringing huge numbers of people into Europe who come from a culture that has a model of society and governance that is touted as superior to all others. Many of the “refugees” are coming with the goal, or determination, of replacing existing European legal systems and societal structures with ones based on Sharia. The conflict between such people and those who support the existing systems is inevitable.

The globalists have brought Europe to the brink of civil war. Why shouldn’t those who do not wish to live in a repressive socialist multicultural Sharia paradise have a refuge, just as do those punitively fleeing war in Syria?

“Orban: Hungary Will Welcome ‘European Refugees’ Fleeing Multicultural West,” by Jack Montgomery, Breitbart, February 11, 2017:

Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban says his country will open its arms to west Europeans fleeing mass immigration and “the lords of globalist politics”.

“We shall let in true refugees”, Mr Orban told a cheering audience: “Germans, Dutch, French and Italians, terrified politicians and journalists who here in Hungary want to find the Europe they have lost in their homelands.”

The populist leader has served as the de facto leader of the central and eastern European countries which have resisted the open borders policies of the European Union (EU) and leading member-states in the west of the continent.

Globalist politicians, Mr Orban contended, are seeking to “sweep away a democracy of debate and replace it with a democracy of [political] correctness”, where “true power, decisions and influence [are] not held by elected governments, but [by] unelected global networks, media gurus and international organisations.”

He cited Britain’s vote to leave the European Union and Donald Trump’s election in the United States as episodes in a wider popular revolt against the “arrogance and condescension” of global elites by ordinary people whose “mouths had been gagged” for too long.

He claimed that history’s departure from “the course marked out for it” in 2016 “mocked the prophets of liberal politics”, who have responded as though “the people are a danger to democracy”.

“This is how the world’s most bizarre coalition of people smugglers, human rights activists and elite European politicians came into existence, specifically to deliberately bring millions of migrants into Europe,” he said….

Europeans increasingly opposed to Muslim immigration

“All further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped.”

This is the statement that most Europeans agree with; not that immigration from Muslim countries should be slowed or given tighter restrictions, but altogether stopped.

The survey was conducted before Trump’s executive order suspending immigration from seven Muslim countries, so that order had nothing to do with the European people’s attitude, but this sure did:

With the exception of Poland, each country was the target of a refugee crisis or terrorist attack in recent years.

Despite this fact, leftists predictably blame the so-called “far right presence” in their countries.

“Survey: Europeans Increasingly Opposed To Muslim Immigration”, by Russ Read, The Daily Caller, February 8, 2017:

A survey of citizens in ten European countries found that more than half of respondents want to stop migration from mainly Muslim countries.

The survey, conducted by the United Kingdom’s Chatham House Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA), found an average of 55 percent of the 10,000 Europeans surveyed agreed with the statement: “all further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped.”

A majority of respondents from all but two of the countries (the U.K. and Spain) included in the survey agreed with the statement. The percentages of agreement ranged from a high of 71 percent in Poland to a low of 41 percent in Spain.

Chatham House concluded that the survey results “suggest that public opposition to any further migration from predominantly Muslim states is by no means confined to Trump’s electorate in the U.S. but is fairly widespread.”

The survey was conducted before President Donald Trump’s executive order suspending immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries.

The think tank also found that the countries which most agreed that Muslim immigration should be stopped had “very different sized Muslim populations.” Additionally, with the exception of Poland, each country was the target of a refugee crisis or terrorist attack in recent years. Most of the states also have a far-right-wing presence in their respective political systems.

A Pew Research Center study conducted in 2016 found a majority of respondents in Hungary, Poland, Italy and Greece had an unfavorable view of Muslims in their respective countries. Only 29 percent of respondents in Germany and France shared that view.

As of 2010, the European Union was home to 13 million Muslim immigrants…..

Canadian Imam: ‘Muslims will conquer Rome, defeat Christianity’

CIJ News reports:

Sheikh Shaban Sherif Mady (شعبان شريف ماضي), was a scholar at al-Azhar theological school in Egypt and served at the Ministry of Endowment and Ministry of Education of the Egyptian government. Today, he is the Imam of a Muslim congregation in Edmonton, Alberta which holds its Friday prayers at Glengarry Hall in Edmonton.

In a recent Friday sermon (February 2016), Imam Shaban Sherif Mady mentioned Mohammad’s prophecy about the future Islamic conquer of Europe and defeating Christianity, Islam’s prime enemy, after taking over Turkey and Palestine.

The following is an except of Shaban Sherif Mady’s sermon as translated by Memri:

The Prophet Muhammad told us that Constantinople would be conquered. This was the capital city of the Byzantine Empire. I am talking about prophecies from the sunna. Where is Constantinople, the capital city of the Byzantine Empire? Today, it is in Turkey.

Turkey, Montenegro, Kosovo, all the way to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia… All these countries were ruled by the rightly guided Caliphate, the last Caliphate of the Muslims. [It ruled] about half of Europe, in the East, and then the other half, in the West, the countries of Al-Andalus: Spain, Portugal, and part of France, all the way to the Ural Mountains. All this was an Islamic Caliphate.

Constantinople will be conquered. It is the Prophet Muhammad who said so. And what was Constantinople? Just like the Vatican today, it was the capital of all the Christians in the world. It was conquered and became Turkey. The Hagia Sophia became a great mosque, where Allah is worshipped.

The prophecies of the Prophet Muhammad came true. But some prophecies have not come true yet. Look forward to it, because the Prophet Muhammad said that Rome would be conquered! It will be conquered. Constantinople was conquered. Rome is the Vatican, the very heart of the Christian state. When and how? You and I, who suffer of psychological defeatism, cannot fathom that. But people of faith have will, power, and understanding, and they know that the Prophet’s hadith is true, for he does not speak on a whim.”

The future conquest of Rome and all of Europe
