Iranian sponsored ‘Muslim Congress’ meeting in Orlando, FL — Watch the hateful rhetoric of the pro-Tehran Muslim speakers

The Muslim Congress is an Iranian sponsored initiative launched in 2005 to disseminate the regime’s ideology, promote its agenda and recruit pro-Tehran supporters within the American Muslim community. There are nearly a dozen Islamic centers and mosques in the US that are tied to the Iranian regime and the “Muslim Congress” is a national event designed to gather pro-Tehran Muslims from across the U.S.

The Orlando, FL Hyatt Regency MCO Airport is no place for radicalized clerics, hate mongers, notorious holocaust deniers, anti-Semites, anti-Americanism, and people who call for the killing of homosexuals to be given a speaking platform potentially inciting others to violence.

The line is crossed when any Muslim Congress speaker teaches how to murder gays or calls for the destruction of a sovereign country.

[Quotes from a few of the scheduled speakers below]

Sheikh Hamza SodagarWith a smile on his face says, “The punishment for homosexual men…the easiest one maybe is to chop their head off. Second, burn them to death. Third, throw them off a cliff. Fourth, tear down a wall on them. Fifth, a combination of the above.” Watch below video.

These comments are a textbook example of ‘incitement to violence’.

Mujahid Abdul-Karim: On July 6, 2017 heavily-armed FBI agents reportedly raided the home of Shia cleric Mujahid Abdul-Karim.Islamist Watch has obtained a copy of the search warrant.

The investigating agent’s affidavit reveals that between 2013 and 2017, “The FBI determined that Karim or another individual at the subject premises [Karim’s house] was searching for, and viewing, child pornography via the Internet.” The court order’s description of the internet searches is extremely disturbing. This investigation was tied into an unrelated FBI investigation. The violent nature of the raid has many law Enforcement experts speculating the raid was tied to Hezbollah activity in the US.

Kevin Barrett2011 attacks in Norway:  Barrett stated in a February 17, 2015 article titled “9/11 attack was a Zionist coup d-etat to seize power in US and launch a permanent war on Islam on behalf of Israel: 2011 Norway attacks were done by…Zionist preemptive murderers who excel at ‘killing the future’…A team of Zionist-liked professional killers executed a total of 77 people, while Zionist-freemasonic assets in the Norwegian police and military stood by.”

On January 20, 2015 in a piece titled “Zionist NWO murders Iranian General, American filmmaker”Barrett stated, “The Zionists created ISIL and sent it to fight Muslims and Christians in Syria and Iraq, NWO Zionism is targeting the USA for destruction.”

Barrett is also a notorious Holocaust Denier declaring Jews were behind the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris.

Sheikh Muhammad al-Asi: Mohammad Asi) is an extremist Palestinian-American Islamist cleric infamous for his anti-Semitic statements. al-Asi openly supports the Khomeinist Iranian regime and its international terror arm Hezbollah.“”Can’t you see the shaytani character of the U.S. government?” al-Asi demanded, using the Arabic word for “satanic.”

“You can take a Jew out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the Jew.” —Muhammad al-Asi. al-Asi’s hatred of Jews is legendary in the Muslim world.

Sheikh Agha Mehdi Ali: In a 2011 anti Israel Al-Quds Rally video below Ali talks about the Muslims taking over Palestine and destroying Israel…compares the Israelis to Nazis.

Syed Asad Jafri:”Leave ISIS alone, leave Al Qaida alone, leave Al Nusra alone, leave Boko Haram alone… down with Zionism!”

Moulana Asad Jafri, al-Quds day, Toronto 2015

In the 2014 video below Asad Jafri calls for the “destruction of Israel very soon” inciting violence against the state of Israel.

Based on the hateful, extremist, and incitement rhetoric from a significant portion of the listed Muslim Congress speakers, the Hyatt Regency not only has the right, but more importantly, the obligation to sever, for cause, hosting The Muslim Congress Conf.

Islamic Supremacists want Florida student expelled for refusing to try on a hijab on Hijab Day

Imposing Islamic absolutism on the public square continues apace.

Kathy Zhu is a 19-year-old student at the University of Central Florida. She was offered to try on a hijab on Hijab Day. She refused and posted a message on Twitter to criticize the initiative. After that, the Muslim organizers asked the University to expel her.

All of this is revolting (and predictable).

What may not be necessarily predictable is that the young woman is not backing off and arguing against these thugs on Twitter. The University has since issued a message to indicate that the student would not be expelled.

Here is a video released by Kathy Zhu explaining her position and talking about the “snowflake mentality”: (thanks to Gisele)

It bears mentioning that there are no “Star of David Day” or “Wear the Cross Day” either.

The Muslim Student Association terrorizes numerous college campuses nationwide. They are a Muslim Brotherhood front group.

Discover the Networks:

  • Was the first Muslim Brotherhood affiliate to gain a foothold in the United States
  • A key lobbying organization for the Wahhabi sect of Islam
  • The flagship of some 600 campus MSA chapters nationwide, of which approximately 150 are affiliated with MSA National (while the rest are independent)

The Muslim Students Association of the United States and Canada, or MSA (also known as MSA National), was established mainly by members of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Nyack College theologian Larry A. Poston writes that “many of the founding members of this agency [MSA] were members of, or had connections to,” the Muslim Brotherhood or Jamaat-i-Islami. The threemost significant founders of MSA were Hisham al TalibJamal Barzinji, and Ahmed Totanji, and all of whom were MB leaders of Iraqi descent. Other noteworthy individuals who served as early co-founders of MSA were Mahboob Khan and Malika Khan.

The creation of MSA resulted from Saudi-backed efforts to establish Islamic organizations internationally in the 1960s, for the purpose of spreading its Wahhabist ideology across the globe. According to Alex Alexiev of the Center for Security Policy: “The Saudis over the years set up a number of large front organizations, such as the Al Haramain Foundation, the Muslim World League, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, and a great number of Islamic ‘charities.’ While invariably claiming that they were private, all of these groups were tightly controlled and financed by the Saudi government and the Wahhabi clergy.” Moreover, these organizations commonly sharedpersonnel, money, and institutional affiliations.

The Saudis’ first foray into the United States came in the form of MSA, which, like the aforementioned Saudi-based groups, received its major funding and direction from Riyadh. According to a February 2008 New York Times report, MSA, from its earliest days, “pushed the [Saudi] kingdom’s puritan, Wahhabi strain of Islam.” In the 1960s and 70s, adds the Times piece, MSA chapters “advocated theological and political positions derived from radical Islamist organizations and would brook no criticism of Saudi Arabia.” In subsequent years, a number of additional Islamist organizations would grow out of MSA, whose own website states: “MSA National was the precursor of ISNA [the Islamic Society of North America], ICNA [the Islamic Circle of North America], MAYA [the Muslim Arab Youth Association], IMA [the Islamic Medical Association of North America], AMSS [the Association of Muslim Social Scientists], AMSE [the Association of Muslim Scientists and Engineers], MYNA [Muslim Youth of North America], Islamic Book Service, and the North American Islamic Trust.”

Stating that its mission is “to serve the best interest of Islam and Muslims in the United States and Canada so as to enable them to practice Islam as a complete way of life,” MSA presents itself as an apolitical, religious and cultural organization. In reality it is a radical political force and a key lobbying organization for the Wahhabi sect of Islam, telling students that America is an imperialist power and Israel an oppressor nation. MSA speakersroutinely spew anti-Semitic libels and justify the genocide against the Jews which is promoted by Islamic terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah and by the government of Iran. The Center for Security Policy’s Alex Alexiev states:

“The majority of Muslim Student Associations at U.S. colleges are dominated by Islamist and anti-American agendas, as are most of the numerous Islamic centers and schools financed by the Saudis. Intolerance and outright rejection of American values and democratic ideals are often taught also in the growing number of Deobandi schools that are frequently subsidized by the Saudis.”

Hamid Algar, a faculty member at UC Berkeley, is the biographer of the late Ayatollah Khomeini and one of the world’s leading historians of Islamic spirituality. In his 2000 publication, Wahhabism: A Critical Essay, Algar candidly acknowledged MSA’s historical ties to radical Islam:

“Some Muslim student organizations have… functioned at times as Saudi-supported channels for the propagation of Wahhabism abroad, especially in the United States. The [MSA] was established in 1963, one year after the Muslim World League [MWL] with which it had close links. Particularly in the 1960s and 1970s, no criticism of Saudi Arabia would be tolerated at the annual conventions of the MSA … The organization has, in fact, consistently advocated theological and political positions derived from radical Islamist organizations, including the Muslim Brotherhood and Jamaati Islam…. Although the MSA progressively diversified its connections with Arab states, official approval of Wahhabism remained strong.”

In 2007, a New York Police Department report characterized the MSA as an “incubator” for Islamic radicalism. That assessment was echoed by Former FBI Special Agent John Guandolo, who described the group as “a recruitment tool to bring Muslims into the Brotherhood,” and as the “focal point” for the MB in America. “Their goal, both from their senior leaders, presidents of MSA’s around the country, national leadership, is to implement Islamic government here in the United States,” Guandolo explains. “And they say that.”

Since its founding, MSA has grown into the most influential Islamic student organization in North America. It currently has chapters on nearly 600 college campuses; just over 150 of these chapters are affiliated with the national organization, while the remainder are independent entities whose policies and views may differ from those of MSA National.

MSA’s activities are guided at all times by a set of Islamist agendas that emphasize the importance of gaining power in the U.S., one campus at a time. Toward that end, the organization has published an MSA Starter’s Guide: A Guide on How to Run a Successful MSA, which states:

“It should be the long-term goal of every MSA to Islamicize the politics of their respective university … the politicization of the MSA means to make the MSA more of a force on internal campus politics. The MSA needs to be a more ‘In-your-face’ association … For example, the student body must be convinced that there is such a thing as a Muslim-bloc.” The Guide further advises: “Aim to rise within the ranks of the Union [student government] and to get on selected executive committees … I cannot stress this enough, the Union has vast powers that Muslims need to control.”

In its quest for increased influence, MSA devotes many of its efforts and resources to the practice of da’wa — i.e., proselytization which consists of “inviting” non-Muslims, or “infidels,” to join the Islamic faith. Nyack College theologian Larry A. Poston characterizes MSA as “undoubtedly the most activist of the da’wa organizations in America.” In January 2005, former MSA UCLA member Ahmed Shama said:

“The only justification … that Muslims have to live in this country is da’wa…. [I]f we are not doing something to invite people to Islam, Muslims and non-Muslims, then we are missing the point what Islamic Movement is about…. The end goal of everything I was talking about is the establishment of, the reestablishment of, Islamic form of government.”

In 2007, MSA National’s website featured a document entitled, “Da’wa: Time to Come Out of Our Boxes,” advisingMSA members to strategically adapt their da’wa to the particular cultural sensibilities of North Americans. For example: “Instead of using ‘Holy War’ to translate the word Jihad, use a more comprehensive and proper term like, ‘struggle’ or ‘striving’… Try to use language that is more appealing to North Americans.”

In a similar fashion, MSA whitewashes the Muslim world’s widespread oppression and abuse of women. In 2007, for example, the organization published a brochure stating:

“[T]he women’s liberation movement was not begun by women but was revealed by God to a man in the seventh century by the name of Muhammad … The Qur’an and the Traditions of the Prophet (Hadith or Sunnah) are the sources from which every Muslim woman derives her rights and duties. … Islam, fourteen centuries ago, made women equally accountable to God in glorifying and worshipping Him — setting no limits on her moral progress. Also, Islam established a woman’s equality in her humanity with men. … In Islam, a woman has the basic freedom of choice and expression based on recognition of her individual personality. … The Muslim woman was given a role, duties and rights 1400 years ago that most women do not enjoy today, even in the West.”

Part and parcel of MSA’s da’wa strategy is to make the presence of Muslim students and traditions increasingly ubiquitous on college and university campuses. According to MSA’s Muslim Accommodations Task Force (MATF), campus MSAs can achieve this goal by demanding that their universities become more “Muslim-friendly,” and by claiming that a school’s failure to do so would make Muslim students feel like outcasts.

Consistent with this strategy, the MATF has prepared and published guides (for MSA student leaders) on such topics as “How to Establish a Prayer Room on Campus,” “How to Achieve Islamic Holidays on Campus,” and “How to Achieve Halal Food on Campus.” These guides direct Muslim students to present their demands in the context of multiculturalism and civil rights. “Most campuses,” explains one publication, “include respecting diversity as a part of their mission statement. They consider enrollment of diverse students an asset to the community, as they enhance the classroom learning experience and enrich student life. Try to find these statements specific to your campus, and explain that recognition of Islamic holidays would serve as a practical example of upholding these ideals.”

According to the same MATF publcation, such recognition would also serve to right wrongs done to Muslims on campus: “If any cases of bias against Muslims took place on campus in the recent past, present the proposal as an opportunity to foster cooperation and increase understanding.” It would be a simple matter of civil rights, says the guide: “Additionally, if special holiday recognition is being offered to other faith communities (Jewish, Catholic, Protestant), Muslims have strong grounds to make a petition for equal consideration of their holiday requirements.”

Such tactics are part of MSA’s stealth jihad, consisting of nonviolent initiatives whose long-term goal is the incorporation of Sharia law into the legal and social systems of the United States by non-confrontational means.

This is precisely the strategy which was outlined in a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood internal document — titled “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America” — which named MSA as one of the Brotherhood’s 29 likeminded “organizations of our friends” that shared the common goal of destroying America and turning it into a Muslim nation. These “friends” were identified by the Brotherhood as groups that could help teach Muslims “that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.” Also named in the Muslim Brotherhood document were:

MSA’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood continue, unabated, to this day. In January 2011, for example, keynote speaker Amir Abdel Malik-Ali recited the MSA “pledge of allegiance” at the MSA West Regional Conference:

“Allah is my lord. Islam is my life. The Koran is my guide. The Sunna is my practice. Jihad is my spirit. Righteousness is my character. Paradise is my goal. I enjoin what is right. I forbid what is wrong. I will fight against oppression. And I will die to establish Islam.”

That pledge is an adaptation of the Muslim Brotherhood’s credo: “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

Since 9/11, MSA has made extensive use of the politics of victimization. In the days immediately after the attacks, for example, the organization stated: “In light of the Bush administration’s casting blame for the attack on Osama Bin Laden, MSA National recognizes that Muslim students on college campuses will be subject to backlash.” Characterizing American homeland-security policies as explicit assaults against Islam, a subsequent MSA document, titled America: Post 9/11stated: “Soon after [9/11], the attacks against our religion began at the hands of the media and the political establishment.”

Also in the post-9/11 era, MSA has expressed resistance, outrage, and cynicism vis à vis virtually every high-profile arrest of any Muslim American charged with terrorist activity. When former University of South Florida (USF) professor Sami al-Arian, for instance, was arrested for directing U.S. operations for the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad, that campus’s MSA chapter expressed its “shock” and “deep concern” that al-Arian was being persecuted for his “political views.”

Charging that America’s post-9/11 foreign policy was being driven by imperialism, MSA steadfastly opposed the U.S. military intervention against Afghanistan’s Taliban regime, calling instead for a “police investigation” and a hearing before the International Criminal Court. Numerous MSA chapters organized rallies demanding a ceasefire and held “Solidarity Fasts” to honor Afghans who, the MSA predicted, would face massive starvation as a result of the war.

Even before the U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003, MSA had opposed every U.S. policy towards Baghdad during the preceding twelve years. For instance, the organization had condemned the United Nations-authorized sanctions as “nothing short of a systematic genocide being carried out against civilian people.” Likewise denouncing former president Bill Clinton‘s 1998 military strike against Iraq after Saddam Hussein had expelled all UN weapons inspectors from his country, MSA announced that its “brothers and sisters in Iraq are once again being terrorized by the self-appointed champions of democracy.”

In the course of its aggressive protest activities against America’s Middle East wars, MSA developed strong working ties with numerous activist groups of the extreme Left. Among them were the Black Radical Congress, the Free Palestine Alliance, the Kensington Welfare Rights Union, the Korea Truth Commission, the Mexico Solidarity Network, the Nicaragua Network, the Young Communist League, and the Young Peoples’ Socialist League.

Also in the early 2000s, MSA was an influential steering-committee member of International ANSWER, a front organization of the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party. Moreover, local chapters of MSA were signatories to a February 20, 2002 document, composed by the Revolutionary Communist Party front group Refuse & Resist, condemning military tribunals and the detention of immigrants apprehended in connection with post-9/11 terrorism investigations. The document likened the U.S. government to a “police state” that subjected “Arab, Muslim and South Asian immigrants” to “disappearances,” “indefinite detention,” “round-ups,” “secret military tribunals,” “denial of legal representation,” and “denial of any due process.”

MSA strongly opposes the Patriot Act, which it describes as an “infamous” piece of legislation. The organization’s chapters across the United States have similarly denounced virtually every other national-security initiative implemented by the U.S. government since the 9/11 attacks, on grounds that those initiatives target Muslims unfairly.

MSA’s depiction of Muslims as victims of such egregious discrimination is consistent with the organization’s preoccupation with the supposed epidemic of “Islamophobia.” In November 2010, for instance, MSA was scheduled to conduct an event titled “Curing Islamophobia, in Every Student-Body.” Similarly, in January 2011 in Atlanta, MSA National held an “Eradicating Islamophobia” conference which it described as follows:

“There are two sides to every story. Unfortunately, one side has dominated the media, causing misconceptions and controversy concerning Islam. This conference brings together powerful leaders and speakers from around the world to dispel the myths and promote peace and concern for humanity; the principles Islam is founded on. The education given will reflect what the majority of Muslims throughout the world believe, that Islam is a Religion of Peace and a Help for Humanity.”

Noteworthy MSA-related news items from recent years include the following:

  • On October 22, 2000, Ahmed Shama, then-president of the UCLA Muslim Students Association, led a crowd of demonstrators at the Israeli consulate in chants of “Death to Israel!” and “Death to the Jews!” One guest speaker at the event was Hamid Ayloush, a member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which co-sponsored the rally. In his speech, Ayloush solicited contributions for the Holy Land Foundation, which was a supporter and fundraiser for Hamas.
  • MSA members at UCLA have raised money for Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists at their annual “Anti-Zionist Week.”
  • In March 2003, guest speaker Muammad Faheed told an MSA meeting at Queensborough Community Collegein New York, “The only relationship you should have with America is to topple it!”
  • At its Annual Conference in 2003, the Iowa MSA invited, as a guest speaker, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad, who had previously, proudly identified himself as “a supporter of the Hamas movement.”
  • The University of Southern California MSA invited Taliban ambassador Sayyid Hashimi to speak on campus six months before 9/11.
  • The MSA chapter at California State University-Northridge held a fundraiser for Islamic Relief Worldwide, an organization that received a $50,000 contribution from a pro-Osama bin Laden front group based in Canada.
  • In 2002, James Madison University’s MSA sponsored a “Jihad” panel that included Dr. Abdulrahman Hijazi, who had previously extolled an Islamic suicide bomber as a “martyr” whose actions were animated by hopes of securing “the mercy of Allah” by way of “one of the greatest good deeds, which is jihad.”
  • In 2003, University of Idaho MSA president Sami Omar Al-Hussayen, who had sought access to a chemical lab containing nuclear material, was ordered deported because he worked for the al Qaeda-tied Islamic Assembly of North America.
  • At the 7th annual MSA West Conference held at the University of Southern California in January 2005, former MSA UCLA member Ahmed Shama said: “We want to restore Islam to the leadership of society.… The goal … is the reestablishment of the Islamic form of government.” Shama praised Hamas and Hezbollah for being “uncompromising” on their principles, and for refusing to “shake hands with the other side.” He lauded the terrorist leader Muqtada al-Sadr for “legitimately fighting against [U.S.] occupation” in Iraq. He identified Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood as part of the “mainstream Islamic movement.” And he praised Hamas’ resolve that “the only solution to the current [Israeli] occupation is military resistance.”
  • At the February 2006 MSA West Conference at Sacramento State University, guest speaker Abdel Malik-Alipraised the late Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin and rejoiced at Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s failing health. He also said, “Last week, we were all feeling so good – we were all feeling so good – because of what happened with Hamas” – a reference to the fact that the terrorist group had just won a large percentage of seats in the Palestinian Authority (PA) elections.
  • At MSA’s West Zone Conference on the UC-Berkeley campus in April 2007, MSA West president Amir Mertaban delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of unwavering loyalty to all fellow Muslims, regardless of what transgressions they may have committed: “Don’t ever compromise on Islam! And don’t ever compromise on your Muslim brothers and sisters in which you have no evidence. Osama bin Laden- I don’t know this guy. I don’t know what he did. I don’t know what he said. I don’t know what happened. But we defend Muslim brothers and we defend our Muslim sisters to the end…. In every aspect of Islam you are confident. Four wives? Yes men are allowed to have four wives within this context. Jihad? Yes Jihad! Jihad is the tightest thing in Islam. Don’t compromise on these little things. Be proud of it. Why? Because Islam is a perfect religion.”
  • Each year since 2005, MSA and many of its campus chapters have participated in “Israeli Apartheid Week,” a series of events designed “to educate people about the nature of Israel as an apartheid system and to build Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns” against the Jewish state.

Patrick Poole, an anti-terrorism consultant to law enforcement and the military, observes that “one of the darkest secrets of the MSA, certainly never advertised by the organization or mentioned in their publications, is a rather lengthy list of top MSA leaders who have been arrested and convicted on a wide array of terrorism charges, ranging from material support of terrorist groups to being actively involved in terrorist plots.” “It is important to stress,” adds Poole, “that these are not fringe figures in the MSA organization, but some of its top leaders.” In August 2010, Poole published this partial list of such individuals:

  • In August 2010, a Boston news outlet reported that Tarek Mehanna — an MSA official at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science, was facing indictment on terrorism material-support charges.
  • In September 2009, Fox News reported that Omar Hammami, who had served as president of the University of South Alabama’s MSA in 2001-2002, was now a top official with al-Shabaab, a Somali terrorist group linked to al Qaeda.
  • In April 2003, FBI agents, who had secretly videotaped foreign student members of MSA who were illegally engaged in weapons training, raided the apartment of Hassan Alrefae and Jaber Al-Thukair, Arizona State’s MSA president and vice president, respectively. The raid was part of a larger investigation into possible terrorist training by foreign-born MSAers.
  • In June 2006, Ali Asad Chandia, who had served as president of the Montgomery College (Maryland) MSA in 1998 and 1999, was convicted on terror charges as part of a Northern Virginia jihad network; he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for three separate counts of conspiracy and material support to the Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
  • Abdurahman Alamoudi, who served as MSA national president in 1982 and 1983, is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for his extensive international terrorist activities, which included fundraising for al Qaeda.
  • In February 2010, Aafia Siddiqui – a woman who had been captured in 2008 with explosives, deadly chemicals, and a list of New York City landmarks – was convicted of attempting to murder a U.S. Army captain while she was incarcerated and being interrogated by authorities at a prison in Afghanistan. Described variously as “al-Qaeda’s Mata Hari” and “Lady al-Qaeda,” Siddiqui had previously been radicalized by the MSA chapter at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she studied neuroscience.
  • Wael Hamza Julaidan, who served as president of the University of Arizona MSA in the mid-1980s, went on to become one of al Qaeda’s co-founders and its logistics chief. In September 2002, the U.S. government listedJulaidan as a specially designated global terrorist, identifying him as a close associate of Osama bin Laden and other al-Qaeda leaders, and as a director of the Rabita Trust, which had already been designated a terrorist finance entity that supported al-Qaeda.
  • University of Idaho MSA president Sami Omar Al-Hussayen, who operated nearly a dozen Arabic-language websites for anti-American, pro-suicide-bombing clerics, was accused by federal authorities of using his academic studies as a cover for terrorist support activities. Al-Hussayen was eventually acquitted on the terrorism charges. In addition, immigration charges against him resulted in a mistrial. Nevertheless, Al-Hussayen was deported to Saudi Arabia in June 2004 after agreeing to a deal with federal prosecutors.
  • In December 2009, Howard University dental student Ramy Zamzam, who had served as the president of MSA’s D.C. Council, was arrested in Pakistan along with four other D.C.-area men (all of whom were also active in MSA). All five were charged with plotting to join the Jaish-e-Muhammed terrorist group with plans to attack U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan; all five were convicted in a Pakistani court in June 2010 and sentenced to at least 10 years in prison.
  • Syed Maaz Shah, secretary of the University of Texas-Dallas MSA chapter, was arrested in December 2006, for his involvement in paramilitary training at an Islamic campground, where he was preparing to join the Taliban in order to fight U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Shah was convicted on weapons charges in May 2007.
  • Ziyad Khaleel, president of the Columbia College (Missouri) MSA, was a representative of the Islamic Association for Palestine (a Hamas front). He also registered and operated the English-language website for Hamas, and served as al Qaeda’s chief procurement agent in the United States during the 1990s. Among the items Khaleel purchased was a $7,500 satellite phone for Osama bin Laden. That phone, dubbed by intelligence authorities as the “jihad phone,” was used to plan the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings.
  • Asan Akbar was an American Muslim extremist who attended the MSA-controlled student mosque at the University of California, Davis. After college, he joined the U.S. Army and, in the early hours of March 23, 2003, he intentionally detonated a grenade amidst sleeping members of his 1st Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division stationed in Kuwait — killing two and wounding fifteen. Not long before this incident, Akbar, who had been reprimanded for insubordination, reportedly told his mother that he felt the military was persecuting him because he was a Muslim.
  • Anwar Al-Awlaki served as president of the Colorado State University MSA in the early 1990s, and as chaplain of the George Washington University MSA in 2001. In Washington, DC, he delivered sermons that were attended by two of the 9/11 hijackers and by Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. In 2002 Alwaki fled the U.S. for Yemen, where he became a high-ranking leader of al Qaeda and reportedly played a role in the Fort Hood massacre of 2009, the failed Christmas Day underwear-bomber plot of 2009, and the attempted Times Square bombing of 2010.
  • Ahmad Totonji, one of MSA’s initial founders, became a key player in the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated SAAR network (of more than 100 Northern Virginia companies, charities, and organizations with interlocking boards of directors), which had financing ties to al Qaeda, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hamas.

Other noteworthy MSA figures with ties to terrorism include the following:

  •  Abu Mansoor al-Amriki: an American-born member of al Shahab, a Somali Islamic militant group aligned with al Qaeda
  • Jamal Barzinji, who is believed to be closely associated with Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas
  • Ahmed Totanji, a Muslim Brotherhood member who co-founded MSA, and who was once a member of the Safa Group, which funneled money to terrorist organizations
  • Hisham al Talib, a Muslim Brotherhood member who co-founded MSA, and who was once a member of the Safa Group, which funneled money to terrorist organizations. Al Talib also co-founded the SAAR Foundation, which the FBI and the U.S. Customs agency believe was established to raise funds and launder money for international terrorist groups.

Writer Jonathan Dowd-Gailey has made some insightful observations about how the MSA has affected Americans’ view of Muslims, both in the United States and around the world:

“Ironically, although one of the founding missions of the MSA is to increase favorable awareness of Muslim life among non-Muslims, the effect of the MSA’s activities is the opposite: they confirm the worst suspicions of American society at large. The MSA’s refusal to identify jihadists and jihadist sympathizers within its ranks, its indiscriminate opposition to U.S. policies following the September 11 attacks, its vitriolic anti-American and anti-Israeli rhetoric, and its solidarity with ‘Leftover Left’ radical activist organizations, together reinforce an image that the MSA, and by extension, Muslim college students, are a divisive, angry, and potentially violent group on our campuses. By monopolizing the Muslim student voice in America with ‘radical chic’ to create a ‘single Muslim bloc,’ an opportunity to forge a healthy discourse on the diverse attitudes of Muslim students is lost to the confrontational language of radical dissent and resistance.”

Intolerant of ideological non-conformity, MSA has ostracized Muslim students who do not share its anti-American, anti-war views. For example, when Oubai Shahbandar, an Arizona State University (ASU) student of Muslim heritage, expressed support for the Iraqi invasion, he suffered condemnation from MSA members who, he said, “personally attacked” him “for not being a real Muslim” and for being “a hater of Arabs and Muslims.” “We are told [by MSA that] America’s foreign policy is based on racist neo-imperialism, Shahbandar reported. “We are taught that national security is a foul epithet to be reviled; we are told the Jews and Israel are to blame for the hatred against us.”

Honduran Muslim Illegal Immigrant Plotted to Bomb a Miami Mall In the Cause of ISIS

Vicente Adolfo Solano declared in Spanish, standing in front an ISIS flag, “In the name of Allah and our leader, Abu, we are going to defeat you.” Solano was here under on TPS immmigration status — temporary protected status. That said, he should still have been deported due to his criminal record. But instead he remained here plotting to wage jihad here in America.

Solano was caught with a pressure cooker bomb at the Dolphin Mall. His goal was to set off the bomb in the crowded food court to kill as many Americans as he could. Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving and the start of the Christmas shopping season, was to be a day of unforgettable horror.

“I am going to plant a bomb like in Boston, in the name of Allah,” he had declared. “Like in Boston, like Suarez wanted to do in the Keys, that’s how they’re going to get it, and even worse.”

HONDURAN TPS RECIPIENT WHO PLOTTED TO BOMB A MIAMI MALL PLEADS GUILTY TO SUPPORTING ISIS

Vicente Adolfo Solano

Ryan Pickrell on March 15, 2018

Honduran national Vicente Adolfo Solano pleaded guilty Wednesday to providing material support to the Islamic State, the Department of Justice announced Thursday.

Solano is reportedly an illegal immigrant who obtained Temporary Protected Status (TPS), according to the Miami Herald, citing Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen Gilbert. He arrived in the U.S. in the 1990s and resided in Miami, where this ISIS sympathizer produced terrorist propaganda videos and “planned to place and detonate an explosive device in a crowded area of a popular Miami mall.”

The man was, according to the FBI, self-radicalized, and in March 2017, he reportedly changed his name to Abad and posted on Facebook: “I am Abad, son of Allah. May our black flag live on and we continue our battle.” Solano apparently later revealed to a confidential human source that he wanted to join ISIS, the Department of Justice said in its press release on his guilty plea.

Solano unknowingly leaked his plans to two undercover FBI agents, who gave him a fake bomb. After taking possession of the explosive device, Solano attempted to arm it (even though it was actually inert), and made his way toward the entrance of the Dolphin Mall, where he was detained by authorities, according to Reuters.

He was charged in October for his deadly plot.

Solano, who faces a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000, previously told a confidential source for the U.S. government that he was angry with America, particularly President Donald Trump and his criticisms of foreign nationals entering the country illegally. It is unclear whether he actually converted to Islam.

Florida: Orlando Sentinel smears African-American teacher as ‘racist’ for opposing Radical Islamic terrorism

The Orlando Weekly’s Xander Peters frames the story this way: “Orange County middle school teacher has an incredibly racist Twitter account. According to Peters, this teacher “retweeted an anti-Muslim post by Identify [sic] Evropa, a white supremacist group that aims to create a white ethnostate.”

Neither the Orlando Weekly nor the Orlando Sentinel show you a photo of the teacher in question, but I will. This is Sundai Brown, accused racist and white supremacist:

Sundai Brown

What race is she supposedly attacking? Jihad terror and Islamization. Islam, as any sane person knows, is not a race, and Muslims are not of a single race, but of all races. But the Orlando Weekly and Orlando Sentinel are out to destroy Sundai Brown’s career and livelihood, for the crime of opposing jihad terror and Islamization. She has reportedly tweeted that “imans [sic] worldwide instruct muslims to invade western countries, outbreed them, overthrow governments, kill infidels and implement sharia law.” Are there imams and other Muslim leaders who have preached such things? Yes. Examples are not hard to find. She has also retweeted posts from Identity Evropa, which both the Weekly and the Sentinel call “Identify Evropa,” and which they claim is white supremacist because the hard-Left ADL says so. Is the ADL a reliable guide to such matters? That’s highly questionable, but not to the Weekly or the Sentinel. In any case, even if Identity Evropa is white supremacist, to argue that Sundai Brown is also white supremacist for retweeting something they said, or tainted by or responsible for all their views because she retweeted them, is ridiculous by any rational measure.

This witch hunt against Sundai Brown is just one of many nowadays. People who express the slightest opposition to jihad terror, or any hesitation about the project of inundating Western countries with Muslim migrants, and not just tarred as racist, bigoted, Islamophobes — that defamation has been going on for well over a decade — but now are targeted professionally. The Leftist/Islamic alliance, through its tools in the establishment media, wants to drive all those who do not echo the hard-Left agenda out of the public sphere altogether. They’re applying Hillary Clinton’s call to use “peer pressuring and shaming” against those who get out of line, and endeavoring quite simply to destroy all dissent and all dissenters.

I’ve been subjected to this for years. The cowardly establishment Right has long been intimidated into avoiding me and all others who speak about how jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence. And a few years ago, the thuggish hatemonger Nathan Lean of Georgetown University led a campaign to get me canceled from a speaking engagement in California that had nothing whatsoever to do with Islam or jihad; he wants me and others who speak the truth about the jihad threat to be shunned and ostracized everywhere. This extends even to basic efforts to make a living. The Washington Post a couple of years ago got Terry Jones, the famous Qur’an-burning pastor, fired from driving for Uber. It’s clear that if I quit this work today and got a job selling real estate or driving a truck, the likes of Lean and the WaPo, and/or other Leftist totalitarians, would publicize it and get me fired.

But that’s just me. After all these years, I am used to this, and expect it. Sundai Brown, however, is a different story. She is not a professional activist or writer. She is a schoolteacher. A private citizen. She and others like her do not deserve this public shaming and persecution simply for opposing what everyone should oppose, jihad mass murder and Sharia oppression. If Bridgewater Middle School or Valencia College fire her, there should be protests. Every lover of freedom in the Orlando area should, if Brown is fired, picket the Bridgewater Middle School and/or Valencia College, asking why they’re carrying water for murderers and oppressors.

It is high time we push back against this incipient totalitarianism, and put an end to this “peer pressure and shaming” and destruction of people’s lives and careers because they said something that the Leftist establishment doesn’t like. If we don’t, it’s clear: this totalitarian straitjacket will be applied to us ever more tightly, until it won’t be possible for anyone to be employed anywhere unless they say and think what Big Brother demands that they say and think.

Say no to this now. Say yes to free thought. Stand with Sundai Brown.

“Orange teacher’s anti-Muslim Twitter posts concern parents,” by Leslie Postal, Orlando Sentinel, March 8, 2018:

An Orange County middle school teacher’s Twitter posts criticizing Muslims and seeming to endorse white supremacy groups have upset some parents at the school, who learned about the social media writings this week.

The posts by Sundai Brown, 51, a teacher at Bridgewater Middle School, include one that reads, “Imans [sic] worldwide instruct muslims to invade western countries, outbreed them, overthrow governments, kill infidels and implement sharia law,” according to screen shots of her post shared on Twitter and Facebook.

In another, she retweeted a post that read, “If you think Hurricane Irma is bad, wait till you get a load of Hurricane Allah.”

She also retweeted an anti-Muslim post by a far-right Dutch politician and a post by Identify [sic] Evropa, which calls itself a group “for people of European heritage.” The Anti-Defamation League, however, calls it a white supremacist group that pushes the idea America is not meant to be a multiracial society.

Inquiries from the news media prompted Bridgewater’s principal, Andrew Jackson, to send a brief telephone message to parents Tuesday night. He told them the posts were from 2017 and added, “We addressed these concerns with the teacher at the time.”

Jackson’s message went on to say, “The school district does not condone or interfere in social media posts of employees unless there is a violation of the professional code of ethics.”

School district spokesman Kathy Marsh said Brown remained employed with the district and that she could not say whether the posts prompted a district investigation.

Brown, listed as a social studies teacher, has taught for the Orange school district since 2010. According to her Linked In profile, she is also an adjunct professor at Valencia College.

She could not be reached for comment.

Parent Ethan Allen, who has a son at Bridgewater, said initially he had no idea what principal’s call was about when he heard it Tuesday night. But after he and others began asking questions on Facebook, a man from the Tampa Bay area posted screen shots of Brown’s posts.

On Tuesday, that man, Daniel Quinn, tagged the Orange County school district in tweets about Brown, asking why someone who “regularly posts anti-Muslim hate speech” was a public school teacher. “What action are you taking?” he wrote.

Quinn said he heard about Brown’s posts from a friend, who has a child at Bridgewater, and as a retired school social worker was “outraged” that a public school teacher would publicly share “such hateful and bigoted views.” Brown, he added, shut down her Twitter account Tuesday, after he started sharing what she had posted….

Florida museum celebrates Islamic conquest of the Church of Hagia Sophia

“In addition to their renowned patronage of architecture, which yielded the conversion of the Church of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul into a congregational mosque…”

Obscene. Here is that “renowned patronage of architecture” in action:

The church was still thronged. The Holy Liturgy was ended, and the service of matins was being sung. At the sound of the tumult outside the huge bronze gates of the building were closed. Inside the congregation prayed for the miracle that alone could save them. They prayed in vain. It was not long before the doors were battered down. The worshippers were trapped. A few of the ancient and infirm were killed on the spot; but most of them were tied or chained together. Veils and scarves were torn off the women to serve as ropes. Many of the lovelier maidens and youths and many of the richer-clad nobles were almost torn to death as their captors quarrelled over them. Soon a long procession of ill-assorted little groups of men and women bound tightly together was being dragged to the soldiers’ bivouacs, there to be fought over once again. The priests went on chanting at the altar till they too were taken. But at the last moment, so the faithful believed, a few of them snatched up the holiest vessels and moved to the southern wall of the sanctuary. It opened for them and closed behind them; and there they will remain until the sacred edifice becomes a church once more….

The Sultan himself entered the city in the late afternoon…He insisted that the church should at once be transformed into a mosque. One of his ulema climbed into the pulpit and proclaimed that there was no God but Allah. He himself then mounted on the altar slab and did obeisance to his victorious God.

That’s from The Fall of Constantinople 1453 by Steven Runciman. Runciman’s account is restrained. Roger Crowley’s below is more vivid: “The church was meant to embody heaven on earth, and here were these aliens in turbans and robes, smashing tombs, scattering bones, hacking up icons for their golden frames. Imagine appalling mayhem, screaming wives being ripped from the arms of their husbands, children torn from parents, and then chained and sold into slavery. For the Byzantines, it was the end of the world.”

“Renowned patronage of architecture”!

“Florida Museum Celebrates the Loss of Hagia Sophia,” by Daniel Pipes, National Review, May 29, 2017:

I rubbed my eyes in disbelief seeing a wall plaque at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens in Jacksonville, Fla., explaining an artifact in the “Ink, Silk, and Gold: Islamic Treasures from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” exhibit currently showing.
The plaque that caught my eye praises the Ottoman Empire for having turned the Hagia Sophia church into a mosque. Its words:

In addition to their renowned patronage of architecture, which yielded the conversion of the Church of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul into a congregational mosque, Ottoman sultans and elites supported flourishing textile and ceramics industries.

(What does “yielded the conversion” even mean? A search engine finds seven uses of this phrase in the English language, all connected to science.)

Hagia Sophia happens to be one of the oldest, largest, most beautiful, most celebrated, and most important churches of all Christendom. Built in the 530s in Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, it has always been the object of exceptional praise, from ancient times (563 AD: “As you direct your gaze towards the eastern arches, you behold a never-ceasing wonder”) to modern ones (2014: “In this paradigmatic building, beauty, wisdom and light became interwoven through the architectural structure”).

The transformation of the Greek Hagia Sophia Cathedral into the Turkish Ayasofya Mosque did not take place gently. Fergus M. Bordewich describes the brutal shift that took place 564 years ago today:

On May 29, 1453, after a seven-week siege, the Turks launched a final assault. Bursting through the city’s defenses and overwhelming its outnumbered defenders, the invaders poured into the streets, sacking churches and palaces, and cutting down anyone who stood in their way. Terrified citizens flocked to Hagia Sophia, hoping that its sacred precincts would protect them, praying desperately that, as an ancient prophesied, an avenging angel would hurtle down to smite the invaders before they reached the great church.

Instead, the sultan’s janissaries battered through the great wood-and-bronze doors, bloody swords in hand, bringing an end to an empire that had endured for 1,123 years. “The scene must have been horrific, like the Devil entering heaven,” says [Roger Crowley, author of 1453: The Holy War for Constantinople and the Clash of Islam and the West]. “The church was meant to embody heaven on earth, and here were these aliens in turbans and robes, smashing tombs, scattering bones, hacking up icons for their golden frames. Imagine appalling mayhem, screaming wives being ripped from the arms of their husbands, children torn from parents, and then chained and sold into slavery. For the Byzantines, it was the end of the world.” Memory of the catastrophe haunted the Greeks for centuries. Many clung to the legend that the priests who were performing services that day had disappeared into Hagia Sophia’s walls and would someday reappear, restored to life in a reborn Greek empire.

That same afternoon, Constantinople’s new overlord, Sultan Mehmet II, rode triumphantly to the shattered doors of Hagia Sophia. … He declared that it was to be protected and was immediately to become a mosque. Calling for an imam to recite the call to prayer, he strode through the handful of terrified Greeks who had not already been carted off to slavery, offering mercy to some. Mehmet then climbed onto the altar and bowed down to pray.

Recalling this violent and dismal history as I wandered the Cummer, I wondered why a Florida museum would celebrate the vicious transformation of this cathedral into a mosque. Could an Islamist be lurking behind the wall plaque’s perverse praise?

I searched for clues by reviewing the makeup of the “Ink, Silk, and Gold” exhibit’s Advisory and Host committees. Sure enough, the answer lay there in broad daylight, highlighted on the glass entry door.

Parvez Ahmed, an apologist for suicide bombing and president of the country’s most prominent Islamist organization, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (commonly known as CAIR) in 2005–08, apparently sits on the two committees; in addition, his sometime-mosque, the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida, sits on the Advisory Committee….

White Supremacist Converts to Islam, Kills Nazi Friends

A former white supremacist in Florida murdered his two white supremacist roommates after they objected his conversion to Islam.

Devon Arthurs, 18, reportedly murdered roommates Jeremy Himmelman, 22, and Andrew Oneschuk, 18, after the two criticized his conversion to Islam, according to Raw Story.

The three men were reportedly all white supremacists prior to Arthurs’ conversion. Police said he carried out the murders “to bring attention to his cause.”

After murdering his roommates, Arthurs took three hostages at a nearby smoke shop in Tampa Palms, Florida. Police arrived on the scene and convinced him to release the hostages and turn himself in.

“I had to do it,” he told police. “This wouldn’t have had to happen if your country didn’t bomb my country.”

When police searched the apartment, they found a garage full of explosives and a framed photo of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh. This led to explosives charges being leveled against the fourth roommate, National Guardsman Brandon Russell, 21.

The decision to become a white supremacist and then an Islamic extremist speaks to underlying psychological and emotional issues that drew Devon Arthurs towards extremist positions. However, both ideologies provided a ready-made package for emotionally disturbed potential recruits and clearly were able to sell their message easily to Arthurs.

While emotionally-disturbed individuals will always exist, we can and ought to act to shut down hateful ideologies which play on existing insecurities and promote and inflame pre-existing hateful tendencies to the point of violence.

Florida Magazine gives ‘Unity Award’ to Radical Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton

941 ceo logoSarasota’s 941 CEO magazine has decided to give an award to a mosque tied to terrorism. The mosque is the Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton (ISSB).

941 CEO gave ISSB their 2017 Unity Award. 941 CEO’s  Sylvia Whitman, Susan Burns, and Anu Varma wrote:

Nonprofit Winner – Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton

FOUNDED IN 1993, THE NONPROFIT ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF SARASOTA BRADENTON (ISSB), with its impressive mosque on Lockwood Ridge Road, is the center of life for many Muslims in our region, and the only mosque within a 50-mile radius. With 200 families as members (and hundreds more who attend during holidays), it is a diverse community of Arab and non-Arab, many nationalities and American converts of all professions.

“Muslims are not the ‘other,’” says Hassan. “We want to build bridges.”

But is ISSB really building bridges? Perhaps a look at their past portends what they are today?

Bill Warner wrote:

March 10th, 2000: Jihad preaching Muneer Arafat and his al-Qaeda procurement agent roommate Ziyad Sadqua aka Ziyad Khaleel move to Sarasota and Orlando Florida respectively.

Jihad preaching Muneer Arafat takes the job of Imam or Holy Man at the Islamic Society of Sarasota Bradenton Mosque while Ziyad Sadqua aka Ziyad Khaleel sets up websites for Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

From 1998 to early 2000 Ziyad Khaleel lived in Manchester, Missouri, with Muneer Arafat and attended Columbia College in St. Louis. Three months later in June 2000 9/11 hijack pilots Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi and their accomplice Ziad Jarrah show up in the Sarasota Fl area and stay for at least 6 months.

Joe Kaufman highlighted the links between the ISSB and terrorism. Kaufman reported:

CAIR-Florida Regional Operations Director Nezar Hamze’s mosque gun training tour has taken him to numerous Islamic centers throughout Florida. One of the centers is the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton, a radical mosque with a sinister past of embrace for those associated with Palestinian terror, including support for suicide attackers and their families.

[ … ]

Another of the mosques receiving the training, the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton (ISSB), has also had a terror-related history and its own imam with involvement in a terrorist organization. And like CAIR, it has been Palestinian terrorism and worse.

[ … ]

According to the ISSB newsletter The Faith, in May 2001, the mosque’s children’s school, Dar al-Iman, was visited by then-professor at the University of South Florida (USF), Sami al-Arian, to discuss with the school’s parents “the opportunity for [their] children to attend a fulltime Islamic school in Tampa.” The school is presumably the Islamic Academy of Florida (IAF), an institution founded by al-Arian in 1992 and which is still in existence under a new name.

According to the US Justice Department, Al-Najjar, the brother-in-law of al-Arian, “had established ties to terrorist organizations and held leadership positions” within groups that raised funds for PIJ and Hamas. Those groups included al-Arian’s founded charity, Islamic Concern Project (ICP), and al-Arian’s founded think tank, World and Islam Studies Enterprise (WISE). Following his imprisonment, in August 2002, al-Najjar was deported from the US.

Kaufman notes, “In January 2001, under the banner of ‘Aqsa Victims,’ The Faith announced that the mosque’s “community members” had raised $4000 to be sent to the family of Palestinian ‘martyrs.’ The newsletter read, ‘The second payment of donations for Aqsa victims were sent the martyrs families and needy in the West Bank in Palestine.’ With regard to Palestinians, the term ‘martyrs’ denotes either terrorists (general) or suicide bombers (specific).”

It appears that 941 CEO is giving credibility to an organization that has a history of supporting families of Palestinian martyrs. This gives cover to an organization with a checkered history to say the least.

Florida: Diocese of Orlando reprimands schoolteacher for quoting Catholic Saint on evils of Islam

“Flanigan, the associate superintendent of Orlando Diocese schools, said ‘the information provided in the sixth grade class is not consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.’”

But the author of this material is a saint in the Catholic Church, St. John Bosco. So did a saint spread ideas that were “not consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church”? How, then, did he become a saint? Why didn’t his apparently heterodox, disrespectful, hateful teaching on Islam prevent his canonization?

Or is it the “teachings of the Catholic Church” that changed? Since it is Catholic teaching that only divinely revealed dogmas are immutable, if the Church’s teaching on Islam has changed, it must not be divinely revealed dogma, but mere human opinion, from which there can be respectful disagreement, no?

“She pointed to Nostra Aetate, an official Vatican document Pope Paul VI released on Oct. 28, 1965. It stated that the Catholic Church regards Muslims ‘with esteem’ and urged Catholics to work with Muslims for peace and social justice.”

Does the necessity to regard Muslims with esteem require that Catholics must not speak about the elements of Islam that jihadis use to justify violence, including the rampant global persecution of Christians?

Giovanni Bosco

Saint Giovanni Bosco

About John Bosco’s document, we’re told:

“Elsewhere in the text, Muhammad is described as a ‘charlatan,’ ‘villain,’ ‘ignoramus,’ ‘imposter’ and ‘false prophet’ who ‘couldn’t even write’ and ‘propagated his religion, not through miracles or persuasive words, but by military force.’ The Quran, the holy book of Islam, is also called ‘a series of errors, the most enormous ones being against morality and the worship of the true God.’”

This is strong and pejorative language. Where did he get these ideas, that are inconsistent with Catholic teaching in the minds of the leaders of the diocese of Orlando that the teacher who spread this material deserved a reprimand? The Huffington Post, of course, takes it for granted that it is false to claim these things, but there is actually a case to be made that Islam spread through force and that Islamic morality is decisively different from Christian morality. Can there be any discussion of this at all? Or is all dissent from the charge that John Bosco’s claims are false to be punished and silenced?

“Jordan Denari Duffner, a Catholic research fellow at Georgetown University’s Bridge Initiative who studies Islamophobia, said it’s not uncommon for people on some conservative websites to selectively cite centuries-old anti-Muslim texts written by Catholic scholars and saints.”

The Huffington Post doesn’t bother to tell you that the Bridge Initiative is a Saudi-funded endeavor to stigmatize and thereby shut down all critical speech about Islam, which would have the effect of enabling the global jihad to advance without a murmur of protest or resistance. The very word “Islamophobia” is a propaganda term designed to intimidate people into thinking it wrong to oppose jihad terror.

“In the imagined dialogue between a father and his sons, the father explains how Jesus Christ is superior to the Prophet Muhammad…”

Note how the Huffington Post favors Islam. If he were a neutral and evenhanded journalist, Christopher Mathias would write either “Jesus Christ and Muhammad” or “the Lord Jesus Christ and the Prophet Muhammad.” Giving the honorific only to Muhammad is yet another manifestation of the establishment media’s indefatigable imperative to push Islam on the populace and shame people into thinking that they’re bigots and racists for objecting to jihad terror and Sharia oppression.

As for the diocese of Orlando: “Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

“Teacher Gave 6th-Grade Students Reading That Called Islam ‘Immoral And Corrupting,’” by Christopher Mathias, Huffington Post, April 19, 2017 (thanks to William):

The Catholic diocese of Orlando, Florida, says it has reprimanded a teacher at a Catholic school in the state for giving his sixth-grade religion class an anti-Muslim reading assignment.

Mark Smythe, a religion and social studies teacher at Blessed Trinity Catholic School in Ocala, gave students printouts of a 19th-century Catholic text that refers to Islam as a “monstrous mixture” of faiths. It also calls the doctrines of the Prophet Muhammad “ridiculous, immoral and corrupting.”

“We have spoken to the principal of Blessed Trinity Catholic School, Ocala and to the teacher in question and have reprimanded the teacher for this unfortunate exhibit of disrespect,” Jacquelyn Flanigan, an associate superintendent at the Diocese of Orlando’s Catholic school system, said in a statement.

Flanigan didn’t elaborate on what she meant by “reprimanded.” Smythe did not respond to a request for comment.

A concerned mother with a child in Smythe’s class gave copies of the reading assignment to a friend, who then sent the copies to The Huffington Post through the Documenting Hate project.

“[The mother] shared this with me while she could not stop crying,” the friend wrote.

The reading assignment appears to be an excerpt from an 1853 text about Islam by priest Giovanni Bosco, who later became a saint.

In the imagined dialogue between a father and his sons, the father explains how Jesus Christ is superior to the Prophet Muhammad, who “degrades and dishonors human nature and by placing all happiness in sensual pleasures, reduces man to the level of filthy animals.”

Elsewhere in the text, Muhammad is described as a “charlatan,” “villain,” “ignoramus,” “imposter” and “false prophet” who “couldn’t even write” and “propagated his religion, not through miracles or persuasive words, but by military force.”

The Quran, the holy book of Islam, is also called “a series of errors, the most enormous ones being against morality and the worship of the true God.”

An internet search for Bosco’s take on Islam shows it is primarily referenced on fringe conservative Catholic sites and in the comment sections of anti-Muslim hate sites.

Leaders within Ocala’s interfaith community said they were shocked and upset to see the reading assignment.

Humeraa Qamar, who is Muslim and whose Muslim daughter once attended Blessed Trinity, emailed the school to say the assignment “caused a lot of distress to the students in [the] class and also understandingly to the Muslim Americans living in Ocala, Fl including our family.”

Rabbi David Kaiman of the Congregation B’nai Israel in Gainesville also emailed the school, writing that the reading was “dangerous and destructive and feeds those who seek to hate vilify,” and that it “expresses a hate language that is disturbing.”

He added that the “tone and factual content is outdated and not reflective of Catholic doctrine,” and pointed to statements from a long succession of popes expressing love and respect for Muslims and the Islamic faith.

“I take pride to quote the words of John Paul II in speaking of Islam in 1985,” Kaiman wrote. “’[There] are the important differences which we can accept with the humility and respect, in mutual tolerance; this is a mystery about which, I am certain, God will one day enlighten us.’”

Flanigan, the associate superintendent of Orlando Diocese schools, said “the information provided in the sixth grade class is not consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.”

She pointed to Nostra Aetate, an official Vatican document Pope Paul VI released on Oct. 28, 1965. It stated that the Catholic Church regards Muslims “with esteem” and urged Catholics to work with Muslims for peace and social justice.

Jordan Denari Duffner, a Catholic research fellow at Georgetown University’s Bridge Initiative who studies Islamophobia, said it’s not uncommon for people on some conservative websites to selectively cite centuries-old anti-Muslim texts written by Catholic scholars and saints.

“It’s a general trend that I’ve noticed,” she said of people preferring “the particular saints from earlier in church history over the Vatican II’s take on Islam.”

The Vatican II, or The Second Vatican Council, was a meeting of all Catholic bishops in the early 1960s. It ushered in a series of reforms to liberalize and modernize the Church, including a move to more warmly embrace Muslims and Islam.

But a September 2016 survey from the Bridge Initiative found that 30 percent of Catholics in America have unfavorable views of Muslims, with only 14 percent saying they had favorable views. It also found that people “who consume content from Catholic media outlets have more unfavorable views” of Muslims than those who don’t.

Smythe is among a handful of teachers across the country who have been reprimanded over the last year for distributing racist or anti-Muslim reading material to students….

Muslim privilege slaughtered 49 people in Orlando

Check your Muslim privilege: Islamophobia kills. A brilliant article by the great Daniel Greenfield:

Pulse club Orlando Florida

“Muslim Privilege Killed 49 People in Orlando,” by Daniel Greenfield, FrontPage, June 16, 2016:

The deadliest mass shooting in American history happened because of Islamophobia.

Islamophobia killed 49 people in Orlando. It didn’t kill 49 Muslims. Instead it allowed Omar Mateen, a Muslim terrorist, to kill 49 people in the name of his Islamic ideology and the Islamic State.

Omar, like so many other Muslim killers, could have been stopped. He talked about killing people when he worked at G4S Security, a Federal contractor that provided services to the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department. But, according to one of the co-workers he stalked, a former police officer, his employers refused to do anything about it because he was a Muslim.

The FBI conducted an investigation of Omar Mateen. They put him on a watch list and sent informants. They interviewed him and concluded that his claims of Al Qaeda ties and terrorist threats were reactions to “being marginalized because of his Muslim faith.” Omar told the agents that he said those things because “his co-workers were discriminating against him and teasing him because he was Muslim.”

And they believed him.

Poor Omar wasn’t a potential terrorist. He was just a victim of Islamophobia.

Omar got away with homophobic comments that would have gotten Americans fired because he was Muslim. He weathered an “extensive” FBI investigation because he was Muslim.

Anyone who says that there is no such thing as Muslim Privilege ought to look at Omar Mateen.

There is a direct line between Omar’s Muslim privilege and the Pulse massacre. Omar Mateen’s Muslim privilege protected him from consequences. While the media studiously paints the image of a beleaguered population of American Muslims suffering the stigma of constant suspicion, Omar’s Muslim background actually served as a shield and excused behavior that would have been unacceptable for anyone else. Omar Mateen’s Muslim privilege shielded him until he was actually murdering non-Muslims.

And Omar’s case is not unique. The Fort Hood killer, Nidal Hasan, handed out business cards announcing that he was a Jihadist. He delivered a presentation justifying suicide bombings, but no action was taken. Like Omar, the FBI was aware of Hasan. It knew that he was talking to Al Qaeda bigwig Anwar Al-Awlaki, yet nothing was done. Instead of worrying about his future victims, the FBI was concerned that investigating him and interviewing him would “harm Hasan’s career”.

One of his classmates later said that the military authorities, “Don’t want to say anything because it would be considered questioning somebody’s religious belief, or they’re afraid of an equal opportunity lawsuit.”

Would the FBI have been as sensitive if Nidal Hasan had been named Frank Wright? No more than Omar Mateen would have kept his security job if his name had been Joe Johnson.

It’s an increasingly familiar story.

The neighbors of San Bernardino killers Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik noticed that something strange was going on, but they were afraid of profiling Muslims. If they had done the right thing, the 14 victims of the two Muslim killers would still be alive. If the FBI had done the right thing with Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood victims would still be alive and whole. If the FBI had done the right thing with Omar Mateen, his 49 victims would still be alive and those he wounded would still be whole.

We have some basic choices to make. We can empathize with Muslims or with their victims.

We cannot however do both.

After 9/11, Muslims somehow became the biggest victim group in America. And even if you contend that most Muslims are not responsible for the actions of Islamic fundamentalist groups, even if you believe that most Muslims are being wrongly blamed for the actions of a smaller group of radicals, the pernicious myth of Muslim victimhood has become a distorting force that protects terrorists.

Muslim victimhood has elevated Islamist groups such as CAIR to the front row of political discourse alongside legitimate civil rights organizations, despite their terror links and history of obstructing law enforcement efforts to fight Islamic terrorism, while mainstreaming their Islamist agendas.

Muslim victimhood has silenced the victims of Muslim terrorism. Every Muslim terror attack is swiftly diverted to the inevitable “backlash” narrative in which the media turns away from the bodies in the latest terror attack to bring us the stories of the real Muslim victims who fear being blamed for it.

This obscene act of media distraction silences the victims of Muslim terrorism and rewards the enablers and accomplices of Muslim terrorism instead. It is every bit as terrible as claiming that the real victims of a serial killer are his family members who are being blamed for not turning him in, instead of the people he killed and the loved ones they left behind.

Muslim victimhood protects Muslim terrorists like Omar Mateen. It shields them from scrutiny. It invents excuses for them. While Omar made his preparations, while the FBI investigation of him was botched, the media leaped nimbly from a thousand petty claims of Muslim victimhood. And the worst of them may have been Tahera Ahmad, a Muslim woman who claimed she was discriminated against when a flight attendant poured her soda in a cup instead of being given a can. This insane nonsense received days of media coverage. That’s more airtime than any American victim of Islamic terrorism has received.

The media will wait as short a period as it can and turn away from Orlando to some manufactured viral media claim of Muslim discrimination that will be unbearably petty. Meanwhile the next Omar Mateen will be plotting his next act of terror.

It’s time to tell the truth.

Islamic terrorism is caused by Muslim privilege. These acts of violence are motivated by racism and supremacism in Islam. Allahu Akbar, the Islamic battle cry often associated with acts of terror and ethnic cleansing since its origin in Mohammed’s persecution of the Jews, is a statement of Muslim superiority to non-Muslims.

Muslim terrorism is not the groan of an oppressed minority. Its roots run back to racist and supremacist Islamic societies in Saudi Arabia and Egypt where non-Muslims have few if any civil rights. Muslims are a global majority. Islamic terrorism is their way of imposing their religious system on everyone.

Standing in solidarity with Muslims after Orlando makes as much sense as standing in solidarity with Klansmen after the Charleston massacre. No one should be standing in solidarity with hate groups.

Omar wasn’t radicalized by the “internet”. He got his ideas from Islamic clerics who got their ideas from Islam. He was “radicalized” by the holiest texts of Islam. Just like every other Muslim terrorist. His actions weren’t “senseless” or “nihilistic”, he was acting out the Muslim privilege of a bigoted ideology.

Even in this country, the majority of hate crimes are not directed at Muslims. Instead Muslims have disproportionately contributed to persecuting various minority groups. Orlando is only the latest example of this trend. In Europe, Jews are fleeing Sweden and France because of Muslim persecution. In Germany, gay refugees have to be housed separately from Muslim migrants. So do Christian refugees.

This isn’t the behavior of victims. These are the actions of oppressors.

Muslims are not part of the coalition of the oppressed, but of the oppressors. The sooner we recognize that, the sooner we can deal stop Islamic terrorism and protect the victims of Muslim terrorists.

Muslim privilege killed 49 people in Orlando. How many people will it kill next week or next month? How many will it kill in the next decade or the next century?

The Muslim genocide of non-Muslims is already happening in Syria and Iraq. Islam has a long genocidal history. And if we continue to confuse the oppressors and the oppressed, the next genocide we fail to stop may be our own.

Iran Threatens War in Gulf of Mexico — Suicide Attacks against U.S. ships

“I declare now that if the enemy wants to spark a war against Iran, we will chase them even to the Gulf of Mexico and we will (certainly) do it. They have tested us once and if necessary, there are people who will blow up themselves with ammunitions to destroy the US warships.”

Good thing Obama signed that nuke deal: imagine how belligerent the Iranians would be if he hadn’t bought peace in our time.

“Deputy Commander Says IRGC Will Chase US Troops Even to Gulf of Mexico In Case of Attack,” Iran’s state-run Fars News Agency, October 12, 2015:

TEHRAN (FNA)- Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy General Alireza Tangsiri warned the enemies against any aggressive move, and said the IRGC forces will chase the US troops even to the Gulf of Mexico if they ever make a mistake and take a hostile move against Iran.

“I declare now that if the enemy wants to spark a war against Iran, we will chase them even to the Gulf of Mexico and we will (certainly) do it,” Tangsiri told FNA on Monday.

He downplayed enemies’ war rhetoric against Iran, and said, “They have tested us once and if necessary, there are people who will blow up themselves with ammunitions to destroy the US warships.”

Tangsiri referred to the IRGC’s detention of four US military men and two Kuwaitis in the Persian Gulf almost 13 years ago sailing on two boats equipped with different state-of-the-art weapons who intended to cross Arvand river in Southern Iran, and said, “The footage and their equipment (seized by Iran) still exist but we didn’t publicize it for security reasons.”

He said when the American forces found out that the IRGC forces were approaching them, they surrendered without any resistance, adding that they were under detention for four days.

Tangsiri also referred to the IRGC’s hi-tech weapons and equipment, and said they include vessels, missiles, rocket-launchers and some more new weapons.

He underlined the necessity for arming the entire Iranian coasts with the state-of-the-art weapons, and said, “We have dug tunnels all the along the Southern parts of the country and there are so many of these tunnels that the enemy cannot imagine.”

Tangsiri pointed to the home-made torpedo vessel, ‘Zolfaqar’, unveiled in an exhibition in Tehran on October 3, and said that Zolfaqar is a submersible vessel.

There is also a semi-submersible vessel which is equipped with torpedos and radar systems.

He also underscored Iran’s missile power, and said the IRGC vessels are equipped with the home-made high-precision air-based cruise missiles, Nasr and Zafar, that can be fired from small vessels.

“The missiles that we have now can hit the targets with a higher precision than their foreign counterparts, including even the Israeli missiles and the (anti-ship cruise) Penguin missiles,” Tangsiri said.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said all US military bases in the Middle-East are within the range of the IRGC’s missiles, but the country still sees no restriction for boosting its missile capabilities.

“Some of the threats by the US are aimed at appeasing the Zionists, while others are for the purpose of domestic consumption (in the US), but what is important is that they are aware of and acknowledge our capabilities and deterrence power; we do not feel any need to increase the range of our missiles and (our perceived enemy) targets are fully within the range of our missiles,” Brigadier General Hajizadeh said, addressing a group of professors of Iran’s Science and Technology University in Tehran.

He pointed to the allegations made about imposing restrictions on Iran’s missile technology, and said, “We do not see any restriction for our missiles and the IRGC’s preparedness and missile drills are conducted without a halt and according to our annual time-table, but only some of them are publicized through the media.”

Brigadier General Hajizadeh pointed to Iran’s self-sufficiency in the missile technology, and said, “Today, all surface-to-surface missiles are fully built in Iran (from idea to finished product), different communications and wireless systems are (also) made inside the country and we do not need to buy radar systems from abroad.”

In relevant remarks in late September, IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi stressed that the US is aware of its imminent loss and casualties in case it sparks a new war in the Persian Gulf and it, thus, obeys Iran’s orders in the regional waters.

“The US knows that the damages of any war and firing bullets in the Persian Gulf cannot be compared with its benefits at all,” Fadavi told reporters on the sidelines of the annual nationwide parades at the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the Late Imam Khomeini, South of Tehran.

“The US is obedient and passive in the Persian Gulf and we impose our sovereignty right in the Persian Gulf very powerfully,” he added.

Also in May, Fadavi announced that the US forces and warships in the Persian Gulf complied with the orders of the Iranian naval forces deployed in the region.

“We observe confrontations and, as a matter of fact, debates between Iran and the foreign vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz on a daily basis and they always comply,” Fadavi told reporters in Tehran.

Noting that the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s territorial waters were at present the most secure geographical waters in the world, he said, “At present different types of foreign military vessels and 40 US warships and logistic ships are present in these regions but certainly, security is established there due to the measures adopted by our forces.”

His comments came after a senior Islamic Revolution Guards Corps commander also announced in May that the IRGC Navy drones and boats were constantly recording movements of the US warships deployed in the Persian Gulf….
